xerxes866: Well here you go. Set up my recording equipment to show the people who question what Gog has done.
Video proof, they eliminated the save button.
https://youtu.be/xg7ETjHPUlQ Bookwyrm627: abbayarra covered saving. If you want to load a saved game, you'll have to click a slot that contains a save. And it is perfectly possible to save in a slot without typing in any characters to name it.
Both of these were how the game worked before any mods were created or GOG existed.

Floating Island: See the screenshot. My next action was to click on a tile directly adjacent to the island, and the unit got off the island with no issue.
Sometimes moving the boat/island will cause units on it to zero their movement. Sometimes not; usually this is an issue if the unit is active (highlighted for movement) when moving across the water. Riders normally automatically "sleep" after their first turn where they start on the craft.
Again, this is all base game behavior. Blame the long dead Microprose/Simtex for this.
That's probably what happened. I my game it looked just like your picture. Only with a entire stack of units. started a new game, and I use spells move units over water. The plan is to never use islands, or boats. The tech no longer exists in my mine when I play. Thanks for the reply, that cleared up what was happening. I will never use anything but spells to move units over water now.
