Azrael360: I still own the entire series in PlayStation and PlayStation 2, but Blood Omen is the one I'm missing. I couldn't get it anywhere in a good shape, it was always scratched from second hands, or non-existant (and I prefer to buy new games, not used).

I hope GOG.com could launch this game someday.
http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Soul-Reaver--Blood-Omen--Fighting-Force-Collectors-Edition-Sony-PlayStation-1-2002-/9397?_refkw=blood+omen&_pcatid=2&_pcategid=139973&LH_ItemCondition=1000&_dmpt=Video_Games_Games

It's a reprint that came out near the end of the PS2 era. The cover manuals have a black Collector's Edition strip at the top and the black siding with Playstation brand is now silver, just like the outer box.

That's Blood Omen, Soul Reaver, and Fighting Force new and sealed for $27.
Blood Omen is a really hard game to run on Windows so there will probably need to be some patching. I actually had better luck running the PS1 version via emulator then the PC version.

I don't know about that, but I have a quad core processor (Phenom II 965 BE) near 4GHz not OC'd, DDR3 (under-clocked MHz)1333MHz super low latency(OC'd latency 6-5-5-15) RAM and an HD5870 and not only do I run Blood Omen flawlessly, but I even use my Dualshock 3 controller on it.

Yeah it takes some work (.bik fixes, disconnecting some usb devices) and a bit of shortcut affinity fixing (1 core only for this .exe folks) but it's still an amazing classic, and was at least finished when it came to PC.

How do you create short cuts to the affinity, and yeah the game is amazing I know. Though, I'm still on the fence on weather I should play it on PC or PlayStation. See if you play it on PlayStation with the right emu, you can smooth out the sprites and make it look a bit nice. However, the PC version runs smoother with fast (instant pretty much) load times.

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C START "KAIN" /d "N:\Program Files\KAIN\" /high /affinity 1 "N:\Program Files\KAIN\KAIN.EXE" That's mine in the shortcut "Target:" line, where you have yours installed will matter.

Also, my gawd, have you seen what was mentioned in this thread that's coming for a PC mod??? http://youtu.be/METuciFfBKQ?hd=1 O.O;;
My whole theory, and it's only a theory, is that if you look through the credits for the game by selecting Credits in the game menu, you'll see that Activision is mentioned in there quite liberally. In fact, Bobby Kotick's name is the first name that comes up in the Activision section of the credits. Second, if you go through the trouble of downloading the PC version of the manual for Blood Omen, you'll notice a big Activision logo in the lower left corner of the manual and, of course, if you take the trouble to read the credits in the manual, guess what comes up? Activision and Bobby Kotick being the first name listed.

I think that there are some serious rights issues with this particular game due to the fact that somewhere, somehow Activision was involved.

So do you just ad that line in the system properties and does this work for other games? Also this mod look epic, when will it be available. I've never actually finished the first blood omen, so I want to wait till this is out before I start to play it.

Uhh, what you need to do is right click the shortcut itself, select its properties and put that into the "Target:" line (first line in the shortcut tab), but as I said you can't just copy paste it, you need to change the drive letters wherever you see them in that to where you personal install is, mine was drive N: yours may be different.

This only works for the one program from that particular shortcut, so you don't have to go into Windows Task Manager and do it every time you start the game.

P.S. If you are waiting for Omnicide I have the demo and it installs off your disk, it also aplies all fixes needed to run the game and in 1920x1080 it is very, very looked forward to once they finish it and nip out the bugs.

Blood Omen 1 MUST come to GOG.com, it is by far the greatest Legacy of Kain game period.
First of all thank you gog for bringing back Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1. Is there any chance of bringing back Blood Omen?
I wonder...since they have all the other Legacy of Kain games for $6, might Blood Omen be FREE?! I doubt it, but we can hope...

I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you the PC version is a bit of a mess licencing wise so there is a good chance it may never come here
Rather than start a new topic about this, I thought I'd revive this one to ask:

What's the situation on this look like? Happy to see the rest of the Legacy of Kain series here, and I'd love to see it complete. Thanks for any response (and I did read the other posts' speculation about why it isn't).

Also, if any of those users return to see this topic highlighted for activity; I'd like to point out that it doesn't seem like there should be an issue here, as Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is sold digitally on the Playstation Store, if I'm not mistaken.
