Hi guys. My laptop is running Windows 11 64-bit OS. Unable to launch game (Jade Empire SE). I tried to launch through GOG, Jade Empire Launcher in game directory, and even tried through the game EXE itself. When I try to launch, it seems cursor is locked in a little invisible window. I also can't get the JadeEmpireConfig Utility to run, keeps crashing when gathering system info. Sometimes the green bar fills a bit, sometimes it doesn't. Help greatly appreciated :)

Skeet8385: Anyone who has Windows 11 able to get game to launch?
I also have the configuration utility crash on startup for me, but the game runs just fine on my end. Made manual changes to the ini instead of using the utility.
I'm running it through the "Launch Jade Empire" shortcut, which links to the exe file.

Besides making sure you run it as an administrator, the only thing I can think of it that perhas the default configuration doesn't work on your system and since the configuration tool doesn't run you couldn't make any changes. So I'd suggest you open the "JadeEmpire.ini" and see about making changes yourself to fit your laptop.

Further thoughts and help appreciated :)

Have you contacted GOG support? Curious about what they said.

I contacted them a little bit ago, sent in Dxdiag System Report. Waiting to hear back from them. Hopefully will get a solution to game launch error.

GOG Support responded back, suggested changing resolution and installing June 2010 DirectX Runtime. Neither solution worked, still getting error message...

What about the .ini file? Anything there that doesn't match your system like the resolution, etc that changing manually might be a good idea?

I'm not on Win11 at all, and getting pretty much the same thing.
I took down the off-line installers, and received the same wierd invis window top left of screen at one pont, And gettng same white box error message.

I've noticed that wether it was launcher, config utility, or the .exe it seems that Run in Admin was chosen And whited out or grey for one thing, so I didn't have to do that Only on the executable itself it was Set to run in compatability mode for Vista when I got to it. Never edited and .ini file like this before in my life. For other stuff mayne - but but not to get it to run.

I noticed on Install that right near the end a couple of larger white boxes appear ontop of the normal install window for off-line install that were doing some C++ something or other.

The rig I tired on has Win10 and more than sufficient capabilty, so I'm truly disappointed. I changed around compability attempt for a while and ultimately uninstalled.

This is disappointing.

Same with me... this also happened with the game: "The Saboteur" both on EA app and GOG it simply doesn't work...and I'm so sad about it.
Hi again guys. I can't get the JE Config Utility to run in Windows 11. Tried every compatibility setting I could think of. It always crashes in same spot, after scanning hardware. One time, I did see the the Aspect Ratio as 4:9, but was unable to change it or anything. My native res is 2560*1440. Help appreciated :)

I keep getting this error when trying to run Jade Empire:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.
