Fingal: Just installed the current Homm3 setup file (setup_homm_3_complete_4.0_(10665).exe). The game plays as full screen (1920x1200). This is the wrong aspect ratio: it's stretched horizontally. I used to be able to adjust the aspect ratio using DOSbox parameters, but these are hidden/not available in this version of the game. Where can I go to adjust the aspect ratio to be correct for the game? (I think it might need to be 1600x1200.)

HoMM3 is not a DOSBox game. To ensure aspect ratio is maintained, you have to use your video card's control panel.

If you're using NVidia, you have to changle scaling to "Maintain Aspect Ratio" and do scaling on GPU. See attachment.

For other graphics cards, look for similarly named settings and change to "aspect ratio" or similar.

fm25: Annoyingly, this seems to still be an issue in 2024... the fix suggested here does not work for me as my Nvidia Control Panel does not seem to have a "Display" section (that entire section is missing in the column on the left).

How has GOG not fixed this after so many years?
