Longcat: "Widescreen" is a bit of a stretch.
It's still 4:3 with mural-style borders painted on the sides to make it fit a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Just check out the pre-order video.
So yeah, not much different from having black borders on the sides of you widescreen projection device of choice.
Still bought the game.
Boilpoint: I'm trying not to jump on the whole 'burn DF to the ground' bandwagon, but that really is kinda dumb. Like, I get it, I actually like playing in 4:3 on older games and not having a stretched image. But, I just set my card to force that. It does seem like they're trying to take credit for something they're not really providing. I'd actually just as soon the borders were black instead of some distracting mural. It's still 4:3 with mural-style borders painted on the sides to make it fit a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Edit: I'm not seeing them advertising 'widescreen support' anywhere on the gamecard or video, so maybe I just got the wrong impression from the replies in this thread.
The game also doesn't have to be played with a mural. You will be able to play it with black borders as well, as can be seen on the game's official website at grimremastered.com.
