MaestroIachelino: Sporcaccione! ;-P

How many italians...
Having played it with both modes, I have to say that I think Delpi is more appealing with the bra on. The bright red eyes and the webbed feet are unnerving enough without the addition of bare breasts that somehow stay up and immobile regardless of what Delphi is doing.
Does anyone know if deleting the file removes the language filter also? I find it kind of annoying having the marine bleeped. It's like buying a DVD and having it be the watered down for network TV version. Any help would be great, thanks.

I don't think there are multiple versions of the dialogue. I suspect the bleeping is for comedic effect.

skizelo: In the UK we got the censored version. I can see why they did it, because no one wants Wal*Mart's hassle, but it's infuriating that they had to put a wonderbra on a water nymph.
I think the whole "games as art" thing will be won when a developer can have a naked character without a following media circus.
Are you sure about this? I'm in the UK and Delphi was always topless for me. Although I had the game bought for me so I guess it could have been an import, but it's unlikely.

I find the bleeping funny. Reminds me of south park:)

MaestroIachelino: Hi! Although I prefer the bikini, if you want to play with the original version of Delphi, just remove the file arpfix.gzp from your game folder (GOG.com\Giants – Citizen Kabuto\bin\).
Thanks! I prefer to play it as creators intended.

DeusExMachina: In Europe we got the uncensored release. Especially in Germany censors have a problem with violence but not with nudity.
Yep and I actually prefer this than the other way round the Americans have to endure, although no censorship of art would be my choice.

Personally, the edits don't bother me in the slightest. Green blood gave everything a more other-worldly feel, a blue nymph emphasizes her non-human and mystical nature, the bleeping added even more comedic effect (for me,) and I don't need to see little CG-rendered nipples and a lack of bra-strap to enjoy a well-made game.

I thought that the boobs were the only censored part of the game. oO

The blood used to be red and was changed (which, again, is fine by me,) and I *think* Delphi used to be flesh-toned. At least, I've seen renders and pictures. I'm no expert, by any means, but I think she was made blue to help tone down any ratings issues. Someone in the thread mentioned bleeping out expletives...I don't know if the game was originally intended to ship with the cursing in place and then got bleeped to try and reduce the rating here in the States, but again, I just think it's funnier.

You stand corrected:

The swearing beeps was part of the humour. But the forced cover-up of the characters and hiding of nudity was because of USA prudishness and obsessions with nudity.

DaveMongoose: Just imagine the outrage the game would get now if it were a high profile release!
Well the west is now far more in the hands of anti-freedom scum.

Really? I thought you lot were far less prudish than the ameircans?

And what about people who it's *not* fine by? You know, people who are against censorship as an attack on freedom of speech?
