Hi. I'm thinking about buying Giants, and I have question about this game. To which games this game is similar? It is good?

Piotrbov: Hi. I'm thinking about buying Giants, and I have question about this game. To which games this game is similar? It is good?

Short answer......It's well worth the small outlay.
Long answer...... Giants is unlike anything I have played before, having bought it from GOG and installed it I found myself wondering how it was I had never played this before, it seems criminal that this game has not gotten more recognition than it has, and even more criminal that you can get this much game for only six bucks.
If I had to score it out of ten I would have to give it A solid eight.
I had actually never even heard of Giants before seeing it on GOG. I did a little research on it through some other gaming sites and decided to buy it. I'm only a short way into it, but so far it has been well worth the very minor price point. I'm with disarmble on this: 8/10
I'm glad to see these positive reviews as well, since I am considering buying the game at some point.
You guys do realize that the reviews on the game's page in the GOG store were all written by GOG community members, right? There are 31 separate reviews there, nearly all perfect 5/5's
I managed to buy it first time it was out loved the game and the humor. Bought it again here afte not playing in a long time and the game still plays as well as i remember about it.
Game has great graphics, music, has loads of playability and a great amount of humor.

I do, but many of those reviews are from people who were fans of the game when it first came out. I meant I was also happy to see that people who never played it before GOG had it enjoyed it as well.
I dug up my CDs a few months ago, and it was still fun. Everything except the racing..the racing was terrible.
There is one contemporary game to compare this to: Sacrifice. You'll see some similarities, including the personality and attack of at least one unit. I think the teams behind Kabuto and Sacrifice both consisted of people from Shiny.
I never played the game before and have been enjoying it. All except the racing like evilidler said.
I just started the game this morning and am enjoying so far. Haven't gotten to the racing that people seem to hate yet though.

I played this ame when it came out, and it''s blast. It's a different breed of adventure/action gaming with great humor. It's not a real underdog as some suggest - it got good reviews as far as I can remember.. perhaps for some reason despite those reviews it never sold extremely well. The graphics were also STUNNING at the time. Great bump mapping! :)
I recommend this one!
Based on the first few missions, it plays a lot like MDK. In other words, it's a 3rd person shooter in a funky world. I believe the game evolves later into a base-building game as well, perhaps similar to that seen in Battlezone 2, Uprising, and Urban Assault....or perhaps not.
And yes, it is good.

In my opinion Giants is really good game - it's type of relaxin' game with this classic, oldschool graphic.
Anyway, from time to time this game is really wicked, but for me it's game's asset.
So, if you like oldschool games and a lot of wicked actions - this game is for you.
Bless. ;)

Well, since Sacrifice was made by Shiny, it's a fair assumption that people from there were behind it ;-) And yes, Planet Moon Studios (who made G:CK) was formed by two former Shiny employees.
Both games stand out from the crowd, in that they dared to do things differently. They had the guts to make something original, rather than Generic Shooter 5: Revenge Of The Evil Mastermind From Generic Shooter 4.
To me, both games are undeservedly overlooked. They are both sparkling gems in a sea of dull stones. Mind you, stones can be fun to play with, but once in a while, it's nice to have something more.
Armed and Dangerous is probably the closest match. Not surprising since its also made by Planet Moon.
