evilidler: There is one contemporary game to compare this to: Sacrifice. You'll see some similarities, including the personality and attack of at least one unit. I think the teams behind Kabuto and Sacrifice both consisted of people from Shiny.
Well, since Sacrifice was made by Shiny, it's a fair assumption that people from there were behind it ;-) And yes, Planet Moon Studios (who made G:CK) was formed by two former Shiny employees.
Both games stand out from the crowd, in that they dared to do things differently. They had the guts to make something original, rather than Generic Shooter 5: Revenge Of The Evil Mastermind From Generic Shooter 4.
To me, both games are undeservedly overlooked. They are both sparkling gems in a sea of dull stones. Mind you, stones can be fun to play with, but once in a while, it's nice to have something more.
