BurstingVeins: It's working fully again. It took about a week and then suddenly started syncing properly.
I'm still seeing the offiline error. Did you retry the connection or did it automatically start working?

Steps on windows 10

1- Log out and close GOG galaxy! Important!!!

2- Go to C:\Users\<Insert YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8

(you will need to view hidden files to get access to this folder sometimes)

3- delete all steam files in there. Don't delete the folder.

4- Go to github link in this forum thread github.com/ABaumher/galaxy-integration-steam/releases/tag/Beta

5- Download zip and extract files.

6- Then paste files into that folder above.

7- login to gog galaxy

8- go to settings and integrations

9- insert your steam user id and password

10- complete authentication verification on your mobile app...

and boom you now have your whole steam lib in there... mine went from 500 to 900 !

GOG has to fix this. New user here, its illogical to have to go to github, find a sketchy runaround to something that they actively repeat to you as a full seamless integration, when it is nothing close. Horrible integration with steam even after removing steam auth which is already awful.

Why is this so complicated? I guessing they think people can just download each game directly from their account on the wabsite but they failed to realize just how lazy we can be! Come on GOG get with it you want use to buy more games so get Galaxy running on the steamdeck.

Woahhh people be way overcomplicating this.

Its a very simple fix.

Quit GOG.

Download the beta intergration; github.com/ABaumher/galaxy-integration-steam/releases/tag/Beta

Unzip it, run the bat file, as admin, to install (do not unzip the windows.zip).

That's it.. All done.. Open GOG and sign in.

THANK YOU! Every so often Galaxy Steam integration breaks and I put up with it for months before finding the new fix, which you provided. We're all grateful!

Don't bother asking for that again, because the only GOG employee capable of fixing that has quit 3 years ago. Since then, nobody was assigned to manage the integration components, and all of the integrations were left to rot. Actually Ubisoft plugin had experienced similar problem way earlier than steam plugin did. Either silently overwrite files by yourself without complaining, or move away from GOG and use other launchers.

Anyone on a Mac struggling with this again lately?

I get variations on: "“_multidict.cpython-37m-darwin.so” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." for a bunch of files. When I manually allow each one via Settings, GOG Galaxy reports that the plugin has crashed.

EDIT: Scratch that. I was downloading the latest version from here: github.com/ABaumher/galaxy-integration-steam/releases but I've installed the older one linked to above instead (v1.0.4), allowed all the files via Settings > Privacy & Security, and FINALLY, I've got GOG to authenticate with Steam.

In my case, all I had to do was disable gatekeeper temporarily, install the the latest beta from github, then re-enable gatekeeper. macOS 14.6.1
