Here's something that just came up Yesterday:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGq23gfh3Lk

Now, I'm even more excited than ever.
where's the noir?
Loved Max Payne 1,2. Max Payne 3 is getting the DRM treatment, so I'll never know.
I'm optimistic. At the very least, it will be a fun game to play, even if not on par with the previous games. The only thing that worries me is the PC version of it, especially since they're releasing it 2 weeks later than the console version...
I actually like how the game looks, the action looks very smooth and the destructable covers oughto bring intensity to the gun fight.

The story seems to be different from the 1&2, but then again, change of location may be a fresh thing to do, Max did, after all, do a lot of damage to NY crime scene in previous games. And noir does not equal the environment to be a western metropolitan, any location will do, if the writing is right,

Haven't really looked at it very closely yet. Aside from the controls anything else which might make this a shite game on PC?.
Im getting sick of PC version being delayed so they get it on console first
I loves me some bullet-time.

Instabuy.

I am afraid they will not be able to recreate the atmosphere from first two Max Payne games. And that's all I can say to this moment.

ps. recommended specs are INSANE

35GB hard drive space? Is this going to be a long game, or full of overdone bloom\cutscenes\uncompressed FMV?

Must be the cutscene and all high resolution texture including DX11 and tessellation. Kinda like Rage.

spinefarm: To be honest... I preffer old Max Payne... this one looks like uncle Bruce in Die Hard...
And yet Uncle Bruce also once had hair before he too fell victim to the lawnmower...

35GB is just 15GB shy of a dual-layer Bluray. Unless they're bringing it out on Bluray for PC (not inconceivable in this day and age), it's going to be a real DVD swap-a-thon.

Very curious about how they're going to do this on the 360.

Uncle Bruce is Uncle Bruce ;)
Just got done playing Max Payne 1 & 2.

First off, about the look of the character some people are harping on: Max's facial model was different between Max Payne 1 and 2, first modeled after series writer Sam Lake and then after actor Timothy Gibbs. Now, he is modeled after James McCaffrey. The Max Payne series is establishing a tradition of using different facial models. From an early GamesRadar review I've read, it seems he isn't bald the entire time either, but shaves his head midway through the story. My question is, who the hell cares? It seems a lot of people miss the finer points of his facial features, see the bald head and start screaming "ughh he's broos willitsss!"

Second, I've heard a criticism levied against Max Payne 3 that people are afraid it will be a "generic shooting gallery," as if it needs to do something more to prove itself. Go back and play the first two games and tell me, besides Bullet Time and the noir presentation, what isn't standard about Max Payne's shooting? It's shooting is polished and honed to a metal shine, yes, and really fucking great. But the entirety of the two games revolves around bullet-time presses and head shots, which is probably what we will get in this new entry. How is that a problem?
