mushy101: Oooh, time to buy Batman Arham city for a fiver. Just in time as well, since GFWL and the other DRM have been stripped out. I'm perfectly fine living with Steam DRM at this price.

Also FC3 for a fiver is a definite steal.
Either Arkham City or Arkham Asylum (I can't remember which one) you can disable the Steam DRM also by passing the executable the option -nosteam or --nosteam or -no-steam or /nosteam or something like that. A quick google of "batman arkham nosteam" probably will find it for anyone interested.

StingingVelvet: What does being or not being a Steam fan or modern games have to do with anything?

I'm just saying I don't get why people want them.
Collector mentality is part of it. Steam rolled this out because it is all a part of the psychology of addiction and marketing. It isn't necessarily all a bad thing if someone enjoys it or perceives benefit from it of course, but all of that stuff is totally lost on me. I've got a bunch of trading cards and other crap in my Steam account that will more or less sit there and rot. I couldn't be bothered to bring the page up let alone trade or sell the things. Putting an hourly price on my spare time, even if I sold them at twice the going rate my life would only be shorter for the time spent. ;o) That's not to say that I don't collect anything myself, but I'm kind of indifferent towards such things for the most part, and totally don't care about it for games.

I use Steam and I'm ok with it, it has its pros and cons but it works. I also play modern games. Just don't care about trading cards, achievements and all that stuff, I just want to play the actual game. If they want to give me an "achievement" how about if it's something like "Did your laundry instead of playing games." or "Washed the dishes finally." or something that would be useful to me. :)

Cannot get over the fact that Steam has La Mulana for only $1.49 right now. It's never been NEAR that on GOG; even during the Insomnia sale. While, I'd really love to have it on GOG instead, that price is ridiculously tempting!

Also thinking about grabbing Kotor II for $4.99 as that doesn't seem to be dropping in price any lower.

Yeah I wished GOG would lower its prices too because the Steam sales kick gog's ass most of the time...

Also DA origins, Oblivion goty and Witcher 2 are all up for 4.99
Just picked up Dues Ex: Human Revolution for $4 from Green Man Games as well (Steam activated). That seems like a hellavu deal to me! Got to play the first one through first though lol!

DC or standard? Steam removed the upgrades and DLC from the store, lots of people are annoyed inc. myself. I asked Steam support if it was a mistake or intentional, and if the upgrades and DLC would be restored to the page, but the only answer they will give is this:

"The information on the Steam Storefront is the only available information at this time.

Please refer to the Steam News section for the latest news and updates on upcoming Steam titles and content."

I refuse to buy the game again just for the DLC, so this might just be the final nail in the coffin of me using Steam

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Apparently the DC is a bit of a mess right now, with gifting also disabled. It's really weird how Steam still encourages me to gift it to all my friends who want it :P
Well I finally own The Walking Dead. I guess I sufficiently punished Telltale for turning away from point and click by waiting for a $5 sale.

wizardtypething: Any idea what the PC port of Dead Rising 2 is like?

I don't know why it piques my interest at the moment, probably because I'd rather wait and see if the few indies I want on Steam will ever be released DRM-free.

I mean, I know Ironclad Tactics will be (because I've heard it confirmed), but it's agonising!

That's an exaggeration, but you know.

mushy101: It's a good port, if you can out up with GFWL.. I think it's one of the latter GFWL titles that has the 14 time activation limit. Plus you HAVE to be online for first time activation. Best to check with other sources.

Technically it's quite a bit better looking then the console versions, and works fine with a 360 controller. The mod scene for it was decent too.
Looks like it might be another 'wait for GFWL to go' situation, as with Dark Souls.

Bleh.
For anyone participating in the Holiday Snowglobe crafting, the Sack Fulla Smissmass (TF2) and PHASED TIGRIS SKIN (Warframe) and Azure Imp Mask (Path of Exile) are rare and valuable items. Don't just give or trade them away thinking they're just trash :)

what can you actually do with these globes lol? I just earned 2 :p (by voting and stuff). Can you like sell em or craft ingame items with it?

Craft 10 them into a Badge (For your profile), which gives you like a background, and an emoticon, and one ingame item for one of the 6 games that have a Steam market. And among the ingame items are rare items, like the above ones.

Leroux: It's been a while, but I don't remember a cliffhanger. It ends in a way that allows further installments in a potential series, but IIRC it's still a proper ending with some closure to the story.
avatar
Stooner: Good to know that, thank you. Too bad there's no other installments (or will be, I think), as seems the game doesn't generated enough revenue to warrant a sequel...
Yeah, if that's the case, that's sad, but to tell the truth, you don't really play Fortune Summoners for the main plot. It's not THAT exciting that I crave for a sequel just to know how it will be continued; actually it's rather forgettable. What's fun about the game is the fighting and platforming, the exploration and simple puzzle solving and the storytelling on a smaller scale, that is regarding the characters interacting with each other, all the funny little jokes and situations when you talk to NPCs etc.

I usually just sell them and buy games. I've still got over £5 left from selling the things but this sale hasn't yet had anything to really grab my virtual funds. This sale has been a bit disappointing to be honest.

This sale is basically the same things that were on the autumn sales. But there are new flash deals + the community vote deals are nice :)
