Yes on Wasteland 2 and, more than probably, yes on Carmageddon Reincarnation.

This is going to be online multiplayer only, so no.

I was wondering this myself actually. That is great news! I knew I would choose GOG versions over Steam if given a chance, especially since I own the other Carmageddon games and the Wasteland game here already. I like having all games in a series under just one service.

Not necessarily true, but it doesn't seem to be the best single-player experience. From the game's wiki:

"Single player by default will mean playing alone, but within a shared and evolving universe. That means regular updates from central servers. However, Frontier Developments has promised that players will have the option to turn synchronisation off when creating a new commander. They won't be able to play with this commander with other players online though, and their universe will stay mostly static. "

Elite is going to be multiplayer only? I should read more gaming news oO Another game I'm not interested in anymore.
Hmm, some sources say that there will be some kind of singleplayer mode in Elite Dangerous. I recently read an interview with David Braben where I got the impression that it will be multiplayer only. Remains to be seen if the singleplayer is going to be anything worthwhile (or at all).

Ah, okay. That's something I know too good from reading Roberts' interviews about Star Citizen. Multiplayer this, persistent universe that, mobile app here, ingame shop there... At one point I thought he forgot that he planned a singleplayer part (Squadron 42) as well. Now I'm very sceptical how it'll turn out (the singleplayer) because it sounds like something they don't really care about...

Let's wait and see what happens to both games, Elite and Star Citizen/Squadron 42. I love space sims, but I don't play multiplayer games.
If a game was originally slated to be MP only and they decide to include a SP to shut up the whiners you can bet it will be a bot match a la Quake 3 Arena. Do not expect too much out of the single player and wait for the reviews.
Elite Dangerous is going to have full MP and SP working parts.
The difference apart from the obvious is that the SP one will not have an economy which will fluctuate depending on the other human players. Which is like duh!

I don't care at all about the MP part so if at least the SP came here, I would be 100% happy with it.

Good thing about Wasteland and Car.
I hope GOG tries something with Elite Dangerous too.
What about Pillars of Eternity? The turn based RPG by the former black isle people?

Not quite, its online multiplayer and single player.
Wow, maybe a little off topic, but what's with all the multiplayer hate? I've met some great people, and even an AWESOME GF playing online... Now some (most) online games these days seem to require almost no grouping or even really much interaction unless you want to.. (Champions, LoTRO, That terrible D&D one I played about two days...)

There does seem (at least to me) to be kind of a void in the old community games, but maybe that's just me being nostalgic about old EQ and WoW ... What I mean by this is it seems harder to meet good quality, fun, people... but again, that could just be my own opinion.

I still really love a good mmorpg though, just need the "right" one to come along.

I can probably understand why people here would hate the shooters and the GTA types, those seem like a haven for douches...

I liked Elite back in the day, I might be willing to give a multiplayer a shot, would probably depend on what goals etc (is it ALL 100% PvP?) are involved.
