Sabin_Stargem: Retro Studios made the three Metroid Prime games, and also created Tropical Freeze. I really enjoyed the Metroid Prime games myself, and have wished that type of shooter was done on the PC. Alas, those games are confined to console controllers. As for Tropical Freeze, I hear that it is a pretty good addition to the Donkey Kong series.
Oh, I've actually played the first Metroid Prime, even though the developer name did not ring a bell with me. I thought it was by a different studio... Anyhow, that's the kind of game the new Wii could use more of. Well crafted, unique, and catering to an older audience than most of the first party releases so far.
thatGOGguy: Is the wii U worth it?
It does look good for its first party line-up and It shoulddd get better.. Right? lol
I do think so, but if you're not sure it's best to wait a bit longer. Not so much for a hardware price cut, but mostly to see how the software line-up develops. They really need some more good 3rd party exclusives, or some 1st party heavy hitters, such as a completely new Zelda game.
Darvond: Also, I'm one of those horrible people who think the Gamepad should be optional or dropped altogether.
I'd say mostly they just need more games to really take advantage of the Wii U's unique controller and features, so it doesn't just feel like a tacked on gimmick. I remember many of the original Nintendo DS games felt like that too. And the same could be said about motion controls. That doesn't mean the feature itself is bad, but not many game developers manage to take advantage of it in meaningful and creative ways. So often it feels like the game would have worked just as well without it.
