The game "The Marvellous Miss Take is on sale 50% off.
It hasn't been out for even 1 week yet.
What the hell developers.
Fastest discount of new release yet?
It's not even a flash sale, but lasts for a full week.

Exactly, this is insane. >_<
That's the way to show the pride you take in the value of your newly released game!

Wait... maybe not.
The Evil Within is 66% off (well, at least where I'm at) right now on Steam, and it was released last month.

Maybe they're discounting it just for the sake of it.
Well that certainly shows confidence in their new game :/

Or... You know, it just didn't sell all that well and they're trying to draw attention.

Within a week? I mean, I understand doing it within a month, but in less than a week? Did it tank that hard?

Possible, but as Grargar says... after just a week? That seems very strange.
I could understand that in month or two, and with a percentage inferior to 50.
If something like that already happened before, I certainly don't remember it.

Could be a mistake (kek) on Steam's part. Didn't jefequeso's game The Moon Sliver get a 70% discount within the first week of release unintentionally?

Has anyone played it... is it actually any good?
Well, there have been pre-order discounts and release day promos for ages, even here on GOG, so this is far from being a record of any kind.

Of course, if they actually sold that for a week for the full price, it means that those who bought it first will get really screwed.

Then again, even that isn't a record. Botanicula pre-order scandal, etc.

I bet the game is no longer on the front page; Over and over i've read that the likelihood of selling anything once it's off the 'new games' list drops dramatically... Having a discount will make it at least pop up on the discounted list for potential buyers.

They could've done that without giving 50% though.

Could be highly possible as steam sales started today......

BUT....

In comparison with jefequeso's game, they sold much less units than him on the same launch timeframe. On a few days, they got only 9 reviews and their discussion board is not very active. If you want to dig further, you can compare the data of steamcharts between this game and The Moon Sliver. I know the huge price difference between the two "products" but considering they're a team of "professionnals" (no offense to jefequeso) and had the support of Rising Star as a publisher, I can pretty surely say that their game is a big bomb/flop/whatever.... :(

BTW, they have an early access going on, which is more successful so at least they'll have money to pay some bills:
