AstralWanderer: Kickstarter *really* needs to show outstanding pledge amounts (something like upcoming pledges for next month/upcoming pledges total/past pledges). It's pretty damn hard to keep track of spending otherwise.
That information is shown under My Account -> My Backer History.

That page does list projects and amounts (thanks for the pointer - the link doesn't show unless I switch to user-style CSS) but no totals. A brief summary (ideally at the top of every KS page) would be my ideal.
I started using a spreadsheet to keep track of it.
This project is definitely one to keep an eye on:

Way ahead of you guys.

Update: added Haunts, Xenonauts, Carmageddon, Spaceventure
Here's a "little guy" with a modest goal for a change - historical Interactive Fiction that "allows you meet the people and experience the circumstances that lead to the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776".

The Historical Williamsburg Living Narrative
Pathfinder Online Technology Demo is a project to raise money for a technology demo for Pathfinder Online (a game based on the very successful Pathfinder pen and paper RPG). Prizes below $1000 have nothing to do with the game itself. There's a blog from the makers of the Kickstarter here which is interesting to read if you're interested in the game.
Portal relaunched with a lower goal.

The reward levels are the same.
DRM-free digital download: $15
Feelies: +$15 each
Boxed set: $100
Boxed set (best value): $150
(etc)

This is Kickstarter, your card is charged only if/when the project succeeds.

I was looking forward to this then saw this :

"Can we have a DRM-free version of the game on release?
We are currently looking into this. The current situation is that we are too expensive to go on GOG, so we will be making enquiries with the Humble Bundle Store instead.

However, it is worth noting that is is already possible to download the game DRM-free from Desura, without using the Desura client. This will still be available after release. It's not Desura's primary method of distribution so hopefully the Humble Bundle Store will work out, but if not then our existing method will work for DRM-freet oo (although it takes a few more steps than downloading it normally).

Full details in this thread:

http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/739-How-to-download-Xenonauts-without-using-Desura!"

How on earth is this too expensive to have on GOG?. The lowest tier is like $20 for a copy of the game....

Did they actually change anything except for the funding goal? I thought they were going to make a new pitch video to explain the game to people who didn't play the original 25 years ago.

Apparently GOG thinks $25 is too much for an indie game. See this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/gog_y_u_no_want_xenonauts/page1

They are going to outsource production to Virtuos instead of just hiring a full team (that being said, there are named people on board, including SHODAN herself) and cut down on 3D modelling by using 2D motion comics for some of the cutscenes (presumably those that would have otherwise required complex 3D models that wouldn't be used in the avatar-environment interaction).

I don't know about the videos, I never watch kickstarter videos anyway.

Edit: I'm pissed at Xenonauts. Rant here.

Remember the awesome strategy game Conquest: The Frontier Wars (GOG-material, BTW)? Remember when the sequel was announced in 2004, and then cancelled as the devs were bought and eventually shut down by the Gizmondo-guys?

Well, now it's back: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1869102574/conquest-2-vyrium-uprising-rts-fans-unite

DRM-free, of course.

This one is really tempting, I'll keep my eye on it. Looks like a good play though. I'm getting sick of all the RTS games that seem to focus on moving really quickly.
