ET3D: Looks like GOG is getting to have some die hard fans like Steam has, who don't really consider a game as worthwhile if it's not available on their platform of choice.
I can certainly say that this is the case with me. A good comparison is the internet company. Back in the day (bah! I hate saying that). An internet company provided you bandwidth and you used it however you liked. NOW, internet companies feel entitled to overcharge and "finesse" the data you download. They prioritize partners and throttle competitors. They cap it, monitor it, etc. etc. etc.
So, I absolutely do pick my internet provider, not by simply the bandwidth they sell me, but by how much they mess with stuff behind the scenes. (when possible, most ISPs in my area are monopolies that won't compete with each other). Comcast caused me HUGE problems when they kept throttling down my Vonage packets. (cost me money too).
So.... distribution sources are doing the same thing. They aren't just giving us the game, they are trying to tell us where we can play it, how often, what version we have to play, etc. etc.
Again, YES! I will absolutely buy from sources that simply sell me what I want and leave me alone. And I will avoid the rest. In context... GOG doesn't manipulate my sale. I get the game and I can do what I want with it. I simply won't buy from others that insist I have to play on their terms.
