I've got a CM Storm Sentinel and I really like it. It's got many buttons and profiles and LEDs if you care about such things and a two-year warranty if you don't. It took me some time to get used to it because a) it's pretty big and b) my previous two mice were Creative Fatal1ties which are, of course, claw-grips. I also ran some Razer at some point and it was crap. Not a DeathAdder, mind you.
Now, despite buying the Sentinel about a year ago, I'm still going to recommend a Logitech over it. Preferably a G400: I'm guessing the MX-518 won't be precise enough for you, whilst the G500 is too elaborate and expensive (about twice as much as a G400) for your needs. The G400 and G500 come with a whopping three-year warranty in my local computer shop, which suggests the things are pretty robust. They would be, though, since they're based on the MX-518 which is known for being able to withstand years and years of teenage rage and still keep going.
EDIT: I should probably explain why I haven't got a Logitech myself. The reason is simple: when I was buying a new one, I completely forgot about them.
