I use & love a Logitech G500
I really like my Logitech MX518, will go for something similar when it finally breaks (maybe I'll try the Sharkoon Fireglider). Bad experiences with Razer, won't buy any of their mice again.
Forgot to mention - if going for the G400, make sure it has PID greater than 13333:

Logitech Gx9
An € 10 Logitech mouse, or maybe a cheaper one. Why? Because I have no money :-D

I have the same mouse. =) It's good but I'm left handed so those some side buttons are bit hard to use but this mouse hasn't let me down many times yet.
Another MX518 user.

MX518 is my current gaming mouse. I've also got a generic Microsoft mouse for my laptop with the same number of buttons, minus the DPI ones, that works just as well, if not better. The right button on the MX518 is getting kind of worn out, and has been mildly glitchy for years. Might have to get a new one soon, along with a new headset...

tarangwydion: Mickey Mouse... oh wait... you mean a different kind of mouse... :-)
Argh I wanted that one!
I've got a CM Storm Sentinel and I really like it. It's got many buttons and profiles and LEDs if you care about such things and a two-year warranty if you don't. It took me some time to get used to it because a) it's pretty big and b) my previous two mice were Creative Fatal1ties which are, of course, claw-grips. I also ran some Razer at some point and it was crap. Not a DeathAdder, mind you.

Now, despite buying the Sentinel about a year ago, I'm still going to recommend a Logitech over it. Preferably a G400: I'm guessing the MX-518 won't be precise enough for you, whilst the G500 is too elaborate and expensive (about twice as much as a G400) for your needs. The G400 and G500 come with a whopping three-year warranty in my local computer shop, which suggests the things are pretty robust. They would be, though, since they're based on the MX-518 which is known for being able to withstand years and years of teenage rage and still keep going.

EDIT: I should probably explain why I haven't got a Logitech myself. The reason is simple: when I was buying a new one, I completely forgot about them.

Doormouse variety, skinned, crunchy to the bite...oh, sorry, didn't read the first post.

Logitech MX518. I've tried several other gaming mice, some more eccentrically formed than others, but I prefer conventionally formed five-button mice, and the precision on the MX518 is incredible (and it's got an innocuous DPI button for those DOSBox games with weird mouse speeds).

Edit: Just realised I've been majorly ninja'd.

Logitech G7,but its wheel is fragile.

Jarmo: The cheapest simplest logitech. A little more money and they feel obliged to add ergonomic design features and extra buttons making the mouse awkward to use.
This. I have classic (2 buttons + wheel) optical Logitech M-BJ69. Bought it 8 years ago - still runs flawlessly. I tried more 'ergonomic' models equipped with side buttons etc - just don't like it. Guess I'm too old :-)
