Well, I guess I should complete the set and get Overseer. I was going to hold back and take a break from this genre, but promos are just such shiny things :)
I usually end up buying other things as well, so, I'll have to see what 'free time to play games' think so of this.
Well, I bought Overseer and I've got to admit I'm loving it so far. I can see myself getting more of these. for sure.

Metro09: Hmmm, anyone have an opinion on which is the better of Under a Killing Moon versus Pandora Directive? Already played the first two in the series.

Pandora. Personal opinion, but really you ought to get both... UAKM is classic.
They are still showing up as 5.99 and 9.99 for me, has the promo not started yet? My purchasing finger is getting twitchy.

As usual, the discount will be applied at checkout.

*smack* I had some sort of illusion of previous promo pricing being applied in my cart, rather than at checkout.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm considering grabbing both but trying to gauge my interest in other upcoming releases like Borderlands and such.

I hear everyone saying that UAKM, Pandora Directive, Overseer are very good and so on. What about the other 2 (Mean Streets and Martian) ? Are they any good ?
OK, I have never played any of these games and am considering some due tot he sale.
I have a few questions.
1. Is each game a stand alone story unrelated to the other games in the series?
2. The first 2 look really dated, are they worth considering? I do not mean solely to own them all.
3. Which would be the best if I was only going to buy 1 or 2 of them?
4. Which do you think is the best in the series and why?
Thank you

1. Yes, you can just play any of them and not the others, but it's better if you start with UAKM, then TPD and then Overseer.
2. After you play (and love) the other games, you'll may want to play the first games out of curiosity. They are not bad, but they are not especially user-friendly and you have to be used to old adventure games.
3. Tough call. The last three games are quite similar.
4. I think the best is The Pandora Directive. Other people prefer the rougher UAKM, but I suspect that in many cases it's just because they played it first. TPD is long, with lots of great story and puzzles, and it's just an amazing game. Overseer was even better in some respects, but the story was cut short.
1) They are stand alone, but have many of the same characters and the occasional reference to earlier titles, but you don't need to play them in any order.
2) I'd pass on 1&2 unless you really like nostalgia adventure games. They are quite different from the others as well, closer to a text adventure with point'n'click elements and one insanely annoying action scene.
3) Pandora Directive, and either UAKM or Overseer.
Thank you for the sound advice.
Thank you GOG guys! This is awesome. I'm freeing up HD space and buying TPD & OS ASAP.

Also worth noting is that Overseer is a retelling of the first game anyway. So that's another reason to avoid the first two.
