tfishell: According to SimonG in the Soulbringer thread:
"
For all those asking the question
I just fired it up as a test. No problems.
Win 7 64 bit.
If you run it 4:3 on a 16:10 monitor it has "black" (actually, a wallpaper) borders. It does support 1920x1600 out of the "box".

This game has image and text scaling problems. Everything in my computer is fine, I've every update and fix and every library needed. I've not a particular hardware but a common one. An Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, 2 GB of DDR-2 RAM at 800 MHz and a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 clocked at 3,2 GHz. Using every resolution and mode possible changes nothing. I've used DirectX 6 mode, DirectX 7 HAL, TnL and the default one either in 16 or 32 bits mode and that changed nothing. The only time these scaling problems don't appear is when I use the Software mode that use 8 bits. What's the problem with this game? Everything in my graphic card control panel is set to maximize compatibility. All that remains is to create a Windows XP partition and try that way. : \

Don't. Text IS a bit blurry, it's not optimised for LCD screens it was designed for CRTs and looks far better that way.
The text is readable, just about, though. I'm afraid you'll just have to live with it.
As for scaling issues, I haven't noticed any... and certainly nothing that impacts my gameplay.

SimonG: And it wasn't the most redable text to start with even then, iirc. Text IS a bit blurry, it's not optimised for LCD screens it was designed for CRTs and looks far better that way.

There are scaling problems. And you can obviously note them but you don't want to. And I don't know why.
Example: I've set my resolution on my CRT to 1024x768 and the text is totally illegible.
Because the text font is a cursive one it's hard to read. Even at 640x480.
And certainly impacts my gameplay not being able to play with ease.
See the image I'm attaching.
In the menu it's readable but in the game were the text go away with the voice over it's difficult to read. Even more because I'm not a native speaker of the english language.

SirPrimalform: Hmm, I do see nasty nearest neighbour scaling. The only way I can think of to fix that is play the game at whatever resolution the art assets were designed for.
Have you tried 800x600? It could be that it looked weird at 640x480 because of bad downscaling.

SirPrimalform: I'm really not sure how it could look like that at every resolution. There must be one that is the native resolution of the 2D elements.
Sure there is because changing resolution ameliorated or worsened the outcome of the scaling but it's a non standard one. Maybe creating a resolution with the control panel of the graphic card could resolve the issue. But I don't know the aspet ratio. I discovered that the game stretches everything 2D no matter what resolution you use. But more strange is the fact that if you change the resolution from the Windows control panel the outcome will be even more different lol. Creating the file "Config.ini" and writing in it [video] and then ScaleMode=2 doesn't do very much apart from not stretching to full screen but will create nevertheless the same disturbing graphic artifacts.

bluewave256: Maybe I'm using a CRT? Why don't you think that and assume automatically I'm using and LCD. It's obvious if I'm a good gamer that I use the correct monitor for a game. Text IS a bit blurry, it's not optimised for LCD screens it was designed for CRTs and looks far better that way.
