It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

thebum06: I have a problem with my prime account. I signed up for it, it went through and I got a receipt and welcome email saying that I was not a prime member. But no matter what I do, no matter which browser I use I can't access any of the prime features. When I try to download any of the free games I'm just asked to sign up for the free trial (and I'm told that the free trial is already active when I try to sign up again). I also can't sign up for a trial on a new account since my credit card is already attached to my first account. Their support aren't answering either, even though I sent a ticket 4 days ago.

Any ideas? Maybe I'll just forget it, I did manage to chancel the auto-renewal so it's not going to charge me at least.
I had to switch from Firefox to Chrome in order to obtain the game keys. Have you tried Chrome?

Also, "A permanent 15% discount on all purchases on GamersGate!" 0.o didn't know about that. They just got me to create a Gamersgate account.

elus89: Now, I'm not going to do this (but maybe I should), but if I directed IGN's attention to this thread, I don't think they'd be in particular agreement.
Wow. WOW. Ahahahahahaha. You. You're a troll. A poorly done troll but a troll.

Threatening us like that? Really? REALLY?

You use any type of addons with Chrome? I used vanilla Chrome. Maybe some addon is interfering?

I didn't threaten, I meant what I said. I'm not going to inform IGN. End of.

Rodzaju: This.

I would never have even considered looking at this promo, let alone considered buying into IGN Prime if it wasn't for the reassurance I received from the opinions about it I have seen on this forum.

elus89: Well, that's fine and good and I hope what you say is meaningful.

The tone of this thread, had not suggested that to me however, but if that changes, I suppose my objection would also shift. Sort of. The opening post would probably need a rehaul, at least.
I was not talking specifically about this thread.

There have been similar threads in the past.
I have also been bitten by similar offers which have turned out to be a real hassle to cancel.
I have been influenced by the fact that several people who I trust here have demonstrated how easy it is to cancel the subscription.
Given my previous experience, this gave me the confidence to at least look at the offer.....

I downloaded Chrome only to check if it worked, so definitely vanilla.

Don't know what else you could do then. =(

Clear your cookies. Maybe they're messing things up!

Okay, thank you for clarifying. Yes, I have read suggestion of IGN's service on other threads as well, this was the first that I had found objectionable on some level. Their marketing techniques are aggressive, so I can understand your concern. For myself, I am generally well aware of the intent and aggressiveness hidden within these free trials, so I do not generally accept the ones I am not prepared to pay for regardless.

I hope if you enjoy the games you received you will subscribe or contribute in some way to the intent of the promotion.

I doubt it. A freshly installed browser shouldn't have any cookies. I'll just forget about it I guess, there doesn't appear to be a solution for this. But I know that I'm not the only one with this problem, there are people with paid accounts who has complained on the IGN feedback board (but haven't receive any answers, ofc.).

elus89: But if you the acquirer of free promotions know (and when I say know I mean it with a certain amount of conviction) you will never give proceeds in any way to the promoting party, than yes, for you to accept (when you have a choice not to) the promotion is immoral.

So to answer your questions psyringe:
Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes.
Thanks for taking the time time answer. I think we'll have to agree to disagree then. (And as I said, I'm very sure that the people who design such promos would disagree as well, but no need to repeat this part of the discussion.)

Here's some food for thought though:
You're about to watch a TV event in free television that you were looking forward to. Before the event starts, you see an ad of its main sponsor, who (by paying for this ad space) made it possible that you can watch the event. You are absolutely sure that you will never, ever buy the product that the ad is about.

Do you switch the TV off now and do something else, because it would be immoral to watch the event? Because given the way of reasoning you're advancing, you would have to.

You don't have to answer this question, this thread has gone off-topic far enough, I think. Just think about it for a moment, okay? :)
Seeing as my original post was pretty blunt, I decided to edit it a bit. It's IGN's rules however; if free games are part of the trial, people deserve to know. They also deserve to know, when they will be charged if they don't cancel the sub. A trial is a trial, you try out the product. If you like it, by all means become a reg. customer. If it wasn't your thing, unsubscribe. I merely gave the instructions on how to do that.

Thank you very much. Consider my opinion, of the thread you started, changed.

I made a new account and could get it to work by using pay pal. How long does the key reviewing take? It says my key is on hold until they've reviewed it to prevent key farming :/
