GOG.com & CD Projekt RED Special Event, October 2012

In case you missed it, watch here the whole CD Projekt RED & GOG.com Special Event 2012.

And here's the shortened version of what GOG.com announced at the CDP RED & GOG.com special event on 18 October 2012.

Wait for the longer summary tomorrow and the full stream coming soon!
Not to be crude, but was that 4th surprise: The Witcher 2 on MAC? (Not that I own a mac)

Lurchibald: Cyberpunk 2077? Wow, how long did it take to come up with that title?
Four months. Weren't you listening?
GOG news were kinda underwhelming, but cyberpunk should be awesome.

Baillieboy: Anyone think this guy is a mix of Barry White and Ron Perlman?

Sounds similar.

Rygaar: So please GOG, emphasize Linux. At least provide dosbox packages like you do on Windows. Just to say you support gaming on Linux ! And considering that besides dos games, lots of indy games work on Linux, this is really something that you cannot ignore GOG ! Even Steam is about to do it !
Considering they were outing themselves to be "Mac-fanatics" in that trailer (how does that fit to the anti-DRM-stance, btw), I guess they don't care, and the market's too small or something.

A "surprise" that was spoiled by Steam two hours ago, mind you. ;)

Well, I liked the chemistry between Marcin and Mike.

Also, no slow blues jam from TET :(

Aaaaaaaaaaand... it's over. I was hoping for long conference, but... oh well. GOG keeps going, at least.

CDP! CDP! I will give you all of my money if you fund a buddy comedy featuring Marcin and Mike!

He said they might do something, and i was hoping for a Haloween tie in. A shame it didn't happen.

Although TET was in that video.

de_Monteynard: Wait, you don't get to choose the games you want from the Interplay promo? Christ GOG, this is a shitty deal you have going here for people who already own most of the Interplay catalogue, but with no money or interest to buy the whole collection.
Many people have requested over and over again that GOG should introduce bundle pricing from other sites, ie. these bundles where you end up buying the same games several times. You know, they way bundles overlap in HiB, Steam, GamersGate etc.?

Well, they got what they asked for. Me, I personally prefer the old kind, non-overlapping, GOG bundles where you never end up paying for same games several times. But at least GOG will apparently give you gift codes for the games in the bundle that you have already, something that Humble Store or Steam does not do. That's at least a bit of consolation.

For me the most interesting thing was the Giana Sisters game, just because I liked the original on Amiga. And in a way I like GOG extending to Mac, even if I don't personally benefit from it.

Oh yeah and that adventure editor? Neato? I guess, I didn't look all of it.

But the good news is that at least they didn't change anything to the worse, like introducing some mandatory downloader/game launcher, or introduce DRM, or anything like that. That's always a relief. :)

Ah, I was a bit confused. I already knew the Witcher 2 was coming to MAC. Or at least I think I heard them saying so. Well good news to mac owners. For me it just means I'll have to take a look at the interplay games to see if they are interesting. The new games coming are interesting but I have to save my money. At least until my birthday.

It's nice to find someone other than me who thinks this kind of thing is gross.
No new publisher announced? Oh well at least more games for a good price.

Yeah, I'm on that side to.

Anyway, I think I'm going to go for Crusader: No Remorse, as I don't feel like a management sim, right now.
