Delixe: The entire heresy could have been avoided if humanity had stopped with the 'purge the xenos' for just five minutes.

Taleroth: Do you have any idea how many jobs would be lost in the purge the xenos sector if they stopped for five minutes? Do you? It would send the economy into a halt. It is the foundation! Just for your scaremongering hippy ideas!
This is another change i'd like to see in an offshoot. Enough purge xenos/aliens for once and let a small group of humans/etc break off form the rest and ally with some aliens. Make some interesting alliances. Every time I see humans allying with xenos they seem to get wiped out & c'mon the imperium is strong and all but they can't win every time against "heretics"

You mean Tau?

I meant heretics not xenos. The tau are doing ok but every HUMAN rebellion gets squished almost right away it seems. It'd be nice if a human-tau alliance could form and see what comes of it....as long as it wasn't squished year one anyways.

Thanks for the link btw.

There are humans in the Tau, to my knowledge.

There is a very good reason behind the whole Purge the Xenos idea. See, the Emperor wis the Chaos God of Light, and is hiding out in our universe slowly building up his forces so he can eventually attack the forces of Chaos and destroy them once and for all. The Chaos Gods are powered by worship, thus the Emperor bans all religion and all vices from humanity to make sure humanity doesn't empower Chaos anymore than they already have.

Many, many alien races worship the Chaos Gods, thus the Emperor began the Great Crusade to unite all the lost colonies of humanity and exterminate all alien life. The less worshipers Chaos has, the weaker they would be when the time came to crush them.

Unfortunately, against the Emperor's wishes, people began to worship him. This made him into a little beacon of power in our universe. Chaos noticed this beacon, figured out what was going on, and put plans in motion to destroy their rogue brother.

Not gonna happen, since the Tau accept you as long as you accept the Greater Good (=accept them as masters) and the Imperium just wants to kill every last one xeno.
Of course, sometimes a temporary truce has happened, but it is an exception.

Rogue Traders do, and some Marine chapters ally with xenos if there is benefit in defeating a common foe.
Allying yourself with aliens is not heresy, no is it heresy being an alien.

The Imperium hasn't won every battle against heretics. Whole worlds have been lost to Chaos.

There are humans who have joined the Tau. They were on colony worlds near the border. They willingly joined.

The biggest failing the Tau have is that they are very naive. One time they were being attacked by a Tyranid Hive Fleet, and the Imperium offered to send a fleet to assist them. The Tau were very thankful when the human fleet arrived and saved one of their sectors. But then realized that they had lost all their planetary defenses to the Tyranids and had a fully functional Imperial Fleet above their planets. Buh bye Tau.

GameRager, pick up the first Gaunt's Ghosts Omnibus called The Founding by Dan Abnett. It details a campaign to retake traitor worlds. The Imperial Guard is the best way to get a view of the universe. They're ordinary Joes like us who have been drafted, given training, then sent out to fight against foes stronger and more violent then they are.

The Tau are the only race that is no xenophobic but idealist. They are comperable to a Star Trek style UFP execpt you must accept their philosophy of the Greater Good. There are Humans, Pech, Demiurg and Kroot in the Tau sphere of influence.

I thought the tau were just the guys from Fire Warrior and that it was a race not an alliance. Thanks for the info.
