Look on eBay / Amazon and buy it on disc, closest thing you will get to DRM free, used good quality copies usually go for around £10. I believe it uses Securom but after everything is patched up use a nocd and you are good to go.
Good thing about the disc version is you can install all the community patches easily and will have it up and running in no time.
I got it on Steam, managed to install said patches then Steam seen a mismatch in the files and put it back to their newest build which doesn't work on 7 64 bit, my own fault as I forgot to uncheck the auto updater. Wish I never got rid of my disc version!

It goes far beyond that. All major bugs have been fixed long ago (and you can still get the pure bug-fixing patch). But all 'patches' of the last years are more like mods or add-ons. Re-instating missions that were only planned but never implemented. Including more clans and making some rule-changes to make the game closer to the Pen&Paper RPG. And several new missions and clan-quests.
