The difference with Valentines day and many other days, is that there's a big part of the population that can't "celebrate" it since they're single while most other special days can be celebrated by everyone. On top of that, it causes grief, depression, etc. Heck, even within relationships, it's the ideal day for the husband to get a kick in the nuts for not getting his gf or wife a nice present. Seems to me it's only for women with a boyfriend or husband so screw Valentines Day :p.
Also, that day is cursed I tell you! Every time I've had a gf, we either broke up shortly before VD, or we'd have a huge fight right before it, meaning I'd be alone on that day regardless. Plus, even when I was still a kid, it was a crap day. So, no thanks. VD leaves a bitter trail of misery in my mind. Love is something you celebrate all year round, not on some stupid commercialised day where stores are rubbing their greedy little paws over all the expensive crap husbands buy to try and appease their wives who expect the most thoughtful gift ever. *rant over :P*
