I never played assasins creed, but i find it funny imagining how that guy in a white robe is trying to fit in an american colony.

At least it looks like he's going to keep wearing that from the screenshot

I find the American revolution setting interesting. More interesting than the Holy Land in AC1, though not as interesting as Italy in AC2. I would've preferred Victorian England, but this looks fine too. Not sure what the problem is.

Roman5: Ubisoft could have went with anything

French revolution
Victorian England
Russia

Hell, anything, but no - we get one of the worst settings for an AC game

Sigh...

Azarr: Oh, it's hardly the worst choice. They definitely could have chosen something better, but it's not one of the worst. How about waiting for just a bit more information?

Not that I'm exactly optimistic, but they might be able to pull it off.
It's roman anything made in the last 3 years (maybe more) and anything new is automatically crap
Im going to predict that the game is actually set in multiple time periods, and the American Revolution is just one of them.

Even if the game is just set in one time period, and it tuns out it is the American Revolution, I don't think its going to mean the game will suck. Its just a game, and the Assassins Creed series isn't exactly 100% historically accurate anyway. If they want to fudge the city layout and architecture to make it work better for AC's gameplay I don't think its going to be too much of a problem.
How this series has not done Victorian London yet is beyond me.

No hope left for Assassin's Creed 3
Meh.

That Egypt/Arabian theme would fit it much better IMHO.

I'm pretty confident that the Assassin's Creed team wouldn't set their game in a setting completely untenable to the gameplay.

SimonG: Funny, for the last two AC games the major complaint was

"meh Ubisoft is lazy and stupid, they don't try anything new." Now, that we have a setting that demands a shift in gameplay. Everybody is complaining "Oh no, they are ruining the series".

Really?

I had a blast with all of the AC series ( AC II being the best, imo). They had a great working concept that even carried Revelations, which was pretty much letdown in all other aspects. I'm looking forward to this game and the setting. Apart from the colonization games and some obscure strategy games, the American Revolution is hardly covered in gaming (or pop culture in general). I'm glad they didn't go with the ACW setting, that is overused.
Yeah, i was thinking there were more but then I remembered that North and South, Jonny Reb etc were Civil War, not War of Independance (or 'War of Trechary and Treason' as us Brits call it (only not really))
Looks kinda silly, if you ask me.
That outfit would kind of stick out in that era. Not a very good disguise for an assassin during the American Revolution imo.

Yeah, AC should stop trying to look cool.

It's probably "brand recognition" and they will drop it early in the game.
Maybe it's winter camouflage?
