OmegaX: Episode 1 was good compared to what?
Episode 2, most definitely.

(Actually, I don't think the prequels were that bad, myself, but that would be a topic for another thread.)
American Revolution is overdone? I must've been reading the wrong zines. I'm more concerned about the architecture.

Empire strikes back was the best one all in all. Now that I mentioned myself, haven't seen that last of the prequels as in episode 3. But you are right. Last that I checked, those dudes in AC didn't wield light sabers.
Still, those two games, nowadays ever so "popular" Bioware were better than those newer films put together. That Han Solo rip-off was too gay though.
All hail Darth Revan.
There's plentu of meat on those bones...though war of 1812 would have made more sense.
Ubisoft could have went with anything

French revolution
Victorian England
Russia

Hell, anything, but no - we get one of the worst settings for an AC game

Sigh...
SPOILER:

Isn't Washington a bad guy in the creed series?
I guess this is roughly what it'll be then:

Funny, for the last two AC games the major complaint was

"meh Ubisoft is lazy and stupid, they don't try anything new." Now, that we have a setting that demands a shift in gameplay. Everybody is complaining "Oh no, they are ruining the series".

Really?

I had a blast with all of the AC series ( AC II being the best, imo). They had a great working concept that even carried Revelations, which was pretty much letdown in all other aspects. I'm looking forward to this game and the setting. Apart from the colonization games and some obscure strategy games, the American Revolution is hardly covered in gaming (or pop culture in general). I'm glad they didn't go with the ACW setting, that is overused.

i can feel it.. your right... this is so stupid.... :( i mean really? 3 stories thats it... from and architecture standpoint alone this is dumb...

also in that time period if you wore a red scarf you were murdered for being a traitor.. running around with a bird hood and arrows all the time would NOT work... not to mention looking 100% different from everyone else... USA = paranoid in that time period... hell we murdered people for having a seizure because we thought it was witch craft

Indeed. I was late to the AC2 party, waiting for the PC version and then buying the PS3 version after all when Ubisoft fucked up with the DRM, but for all the criticism of Ubisoft, people do have to admit that they've been coming up with some top notch games. AC: Brotherhood was a tad too similar for my liking, but still great, and I've not had the pleasure with Revelations yet.

But the American Revolution is an interesting topic for an action game. Until now it had all been stoic, stat-heavy strategy games.

Oh, it's hardly the worst choice. They definitely could have chosen something better, but it's not one of the worst. How about waiting for just a bit more information?

Not that I'm exactly optimistic, but they might be able to pull it off.

Pheace: Meh. I think the era and place have potential. I don't think it fits AC though

SimonG: I was hoping for the french revolution /revolutinary Europe. But I can see that they want to leave Europe now in the series.

And I think the american revolution isn't really covered at all. I can hardly name 10 games by heard that take care in that timeframe. And 95% are strategy games. (And, of course DOTT :- )
can you name some of those games? I am interested in playing some in that era. Also what s DOTT?

The Day of the Tentacle. One of the eras the game takes place in is the end of the colonial era and birth of the USA. With painstaking attention paid to historical accuracy.

GoG has just recently released American conquest and Cossacks. I have never played american conquest, but cossacks are fantastic
