Damn, I tought this was about the Age of Decadence, the only new game I'm currently anticipating :-(

wodmarach: isn't the attachment rate of the wii like not even 1 game?

Exactly this. Attach rate on the Wii often counts the free game it comes with too (though in Japan it doesn't have a free game) and a lot of folks buy the Wii Play title since it comes with a 40 dollar controller, making the game effectively 10 bucks (or that's how it used to break down).
If you count units sold and attach rate, XBox 360 dominated this generation of consoles.
Most folks with Wiis don't buy games. Certainly some do, but they are the minority.

Lou: Worldwide sales figures

Navagon: Which might mean something if people actually bought games for their Wii. Generally, when it comes to games that aren't casual or MMOs, 360 sales top anything else.
But still, Halo Reach isn't only the end of a decreasingly popular 360 exclusive series, but also it's up against some very tough competition this year. The claim that it's the most anticipated game this year is a very dubious one.

You haven't met too many Halo fanboys... Check out the sheer amount of Halo costumes at any game show. These guys are rabid!

Riiiiight... Halo: Reach... You'd think after Halo 3 and ODST they might have gone back and dusted off the "Fun" and put it back in the game... Oh wait, never mind.

And you came to this conclusion after your extensive playtesting?

worse than that even in the UK its possible to get wii play for a tenner less than a controller alone costs I know people with 3 copies just to get a full set of controllers. In short attach rates for the wii are rubish as they dont take into account the 2 biggest sellers come with the hardware.

No but after 2 really bad games (Do remember this is in my own opinion) I'm a little weary of the next games they make. Hey if it's awesome, great, I liked the story of Halo just not the gameplay
I can think of at least 5 games that are more anticipated.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Medal of Honor
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Fallout: New Vegas
DC Universe Online.
Incedentally the new trailer for DCU Online looks amazing link

Delixe: I can think of at least 5 games that are more anticipated.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Even Activision have played down their expectations for this one. It's by Treyarch and doesn't have Modern Warfare in the title. That's going to seriously confuse MW2 fans and it will probably be weeks before they recover enough cognitive ability to buy it. By then it will no longer be the latest game though. So it won't be bought. By anyone.
Medal of Honor - There's been quite a bit of interest in this one. Don't know if it's Halo beating interest though. Especially seeing as, again, it's shamelessly trying to cash in on MW's success by combining serious military-esque action with... Linkin Park.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit - The series hasn't been all that great since Underground 2 and now that I think about it, even that one was a bit iffy. I'd be surprised if anyone was jumping up and down with sheer excitement at the thought of playing yet another addition to the overly milked series. But you never know.
Fallout: New Vegas - It will sell well, I'm sure. Certainly well enough to keep Obsidian's foot in the Fallout door. Which is the kind of break they need after the abysmal reception Alpha Protocol received, and Sega's subsequent canning of the IP. But the only people really hyped about NV remember the Black Isle RPGs.
DC Universe Online - This is the first I've heard of it. I don't know, but that might not bode too well for the hype-o-meter.

Navagon: <snip>

Think you are underestimating CoD:BO as i've seen nothing but hype about it, especially after that E3 trailer.
Jury is out on MoH agreed but EA clearly have high hopes for it and that means it will be forced down our throats repeatedly with advertising.
NFS: HP is the first Need For Speed game developed by Criterion who previously made the Burnout games. That alone has me extremely interested. The E3 debut was greeted by much whooping as Hot Pursuit 2 was the last truly good NFS game.
FO:NV will be great. I have faith.
DC Universe Online is a Sony game and thus is being heavily promoted on the PS3 with not many people even aware its also coming to the PC. Likely like WAR and ST:O I will buy it and play it just for the included 30 days and never bother renewing though like every other MMO I try.
i've got to the point where i go the more adverts i see for a game the less people actually care and EA is currently reving their advertising into the red zone

Delixe: <snip>

- BO: I'm not seeing Halo-beating hype. But maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Treyarch will probably avoid making the game too good in case it prompts Activision to tear their studio apart too.
- MOH: Again, no real evidence it's hugely anticipated. Compared to EA's other 2010 titles I'd say ME2 was far more hyped than this.
- HP: Hmm... well now that does make me interested.
- NV will be great. The only question is how many patches and mods it will take before it reaches that greatness. It takes about 30 mins to update NWN2 and that's the most polished game they've ever produced.
- DC: MMO. Only being promoted on PS3. Enough said.

I'm in two minds about it. DC are letting SoE use all their heavyweight IP's in the game which is a good sign they are at least happy about it. Promoting it on the PS3 is natural as Sony are a Japanese company and we all know how they feel about PC's even if MMO's are naturally at home on the platform.
Then again SoE made the complete car crash that was Star Wars Galaxies so... yeah.

Which is the second most important reason why it was incredibly dumb of DC to give the rights to Sony, of all companies.

I remember you mentioning that. I picked it up in the GG sale and I used the official patcher and it was done in about 5 mins :S maybe you were connected to the wrong server or something? As for NV it's not like Obsidian are starting the game from scratch so there isn't much they can do to screw it up. As long as the game runs as well as Fallout 3 1.7 with a proper fix for multi-core's it should be all good.

Or it could be that GG stock a more up to date version than the vanilla retail release. It's not impossible, even if they do often provide the patches separately.
I don't think it's wise to approach it with the 'what could possibly go wrong' attitude. Too many answers to that question. To avoid disappointment I'll wait a while after launch before getting it. How long will depend on what people are saying about it.
