I'm just talking about "account based game librarys". I like it, as I don't like keeping back ups. Edit: And Origin, for the most part, doesn't require you to be online neither, as does Steam.
Shooter being "consolified" has been around since the Xbox hit the market (thanks a lot Halo :-( ! ). Shooters haven't been "a pure PC genre" since then. And yes it sucks big time.

Shooters are for the most part "mainstream games" for which publishers want the biggest, easiest target group imagninable, hence consoles.

Ok, I got your point, but I can hardly recall any recent Ubisoft game that can be called "pure pc title" ...

The whole Anno series (yes they had console versions but those were developed independently from the PC versions and those were as pure and complex as PC gaming can get). Same goes for the settlers series.

Which is more than I can say for any other AAA publisher.

RUSE as well. it wasn't PC-exclusive, but it was clearly a PC game. nobody played it on consoles anyway.

Because consoleros didn't need the mouse for which the game was bought mainly on the PC ;-P. Actually I've never played it, as I've played enough WW2 RTS to last me a lifetime (or till CoH 2).

It's actually a pretty good concept for a game you can't see what a unit is unless it's in sight of one of your units or even where it is if it's the right type... at the same time you can also send fake units (think lorries done up as tanks etc etc) to use a feints etc the game idea is really well thought out unfortunately some of the implementation isn't :S

I never tried it or even made a closer observation, so I can't really judge the game. It just looked like it's not my cup of tea.

nono this is slightly different because you CAN see units in the fog of war but not WHAT they are (you get a token marking their position) and since you can fake those tokens you have to decide if it's a feint or a real incoming tank battalion etc etc...

Didn't Supreme Commander have jammers which created fake radar contacts?

You can make entirely fake HQ's in ruse if you have the right ability on hand
