I must be the only person who is excited for it.
Dishonored was easily my GOTY, so it looking at lot like Dishonored is a plus in my book.
Also, Square Enix is publishing it, which means stellar PC port.
You realize right this game is going to be horrible pile of poo?

Apparently you can't even jump except in context sensitive areas where the game tells says you can.

Also XP points.
Looking forward to trying this out. I heard similar complaints/reactions to the Deus Ex Human Revolution Trailer, but that is a good game. I don't think this game will be exactly like the first three Thief games, but that is okay - there is a huge community making mods/levels for those. I'd like to play this game before I judge it. Call me weird, I suppose...

If that's supposed to make me angry and think the game sucks it's not doing it.

Anyway, game looks alright. It seems more open world than I thought it was, which is good. I'm worried it will be too dumbed down but the last Deus Ex was really good and I read you can turn the assistance crap off in this game. We shall see.
I'm very much looking forward to this game. I'm expecting a Dishonored clone but in the Thief universe with focus on stealing rather than killing and that is all fine by me.

The jumping thing definitely bothers me though, that doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm not planning to play at release so hopefully there will be mods or stuff available to change that once I do.

It's not meant to mean anything to anyone, I just said it. But you're one of those "good for what it is" no-standards gamers who would slurp any mainstream AAA rubbish. Have you checked the TTLG or Eidos forums lately? The Thief community is thoroughly rejecting this game.

If that elitist bullshit is supposed to make me feel bad for enjoying video games it fails.

I don't care about jumping. Sorry. There are other aspects of this game that worry me, which I said above, but you're too elitist to realize I expressed concern. If I'm not mad about jumping then I'm just a fucking moron, so good thing you put me in my place.

So uh, it looks like they took out everything that made the first three games fun and made it an action game.

That sucks the thief series was one if my most favorite franchises around.

Exactly what I mean about no-standards gamers. This game could've built upon Thief 1-2 style gameplay but with upgraded graphics and lighting, you know a real stealth game and not a cinematic action-game which allows you to kill everything.

Instead it's "meh, I'll get it at 50% on steam" or something from most gamers, you're all battered housewives you eat shit because you've gotten used to it.

Gaming needs less shills and more rage.

Wait, what? You want a game exactly like Thief 1-2 but with better graphics? How's that progress?

I think there are parts in this game that you're simply blind to (not the first time) but whatever, we all have different opinions.

Besides, you can still increase the difficulty and take away all the holding hands aspects like objective marker and I think I watched some interview where they said at higher difficulties you aren't allowed to kill anyone, just like when you play Expert in Thief 1-3.

Gaming is a business, get over it. They have to target their market to even make a game in the first place.

Looks like the gameplay is mostly cutscenes and scripted events. This gameplay trailer doesn't look much different from regular trailers that maybe contain a few frames of actual gameplay.

Yes I think you are a moron, and that kind of ultra-personal "Well this particular thing doesn't bother ME so it's fine" is ridiculous because you're unable to see the bigger picture.
To those citing Deus Ex: Human Revolution as evidence that Eidos Montreal know what they are doing note that this is the same studio but not the same team; Thief 4 has a completely different team, unless that's changed, with the Deus Ex team working on the Director's Cut and now a new Deus Ex game.

To be fair It's hard to judge a game based on trailers; some of the early trailers for the first game make it look like an action-packed game with lots of combat (apparently the Eidos marketing folk weren't sold on the idea of a first-person game that isn't about killing people).

You'll notice I said "build upon", the current design of this game is a downgrade from Thief 1-2 style gameplay, it's reducing the number of gameplay features. This new game could of easily gone this way, perhaps including a complex sound system for guard AI, even a weight system by which the number of stuff you are carrying determines movement speed, the amount of noise you make moving, etc.

I think there are parts in this game that you're simply blind to (not the first time) but whatever, we all have different opinions.
It's not about opinions, it's about defending bullshit because you don't want to sound negative or angry, the same old spineless no-standards "I'll accept it because there's nothing else to play" crap.

Besides, you can still increase the difficulty and take away all the holding hands aspects like objective marker and I think I watched some interview where they said at higher difficulties you aren't allowed to kill anyone, just like when you play Expert in Thief 1-3.
None of that matters if the game is being designed as a casual action-game and not a stealth game. For one the game will not give the player experience for stealth kills/takedowns, they are calling it "Thief" but there's no inherent benefit to stealth playing in the game, and no penalty toward playing it like an action game.

They have to target their market to even make a game in the first place.
There's a difference between making a specific type of game (in this case a stealth game) and then marketing it on the basis of "Hey we made a stealth game, here's how it plays" and what Squeenix/Eidos are doing, which is changing the gameplay from the ground up to appeal to a mainstream console button-masher audience of retards.

Gaming is a business, get over it.
Yeah exactly, same business logic that's seeing Squeenix putting all their old games from GOG on Steam, or this new crowdfunding/Indiegogo "please make our games for us" rubbish they came up with the other day. Desperation. Don't worry I'll be sure to make a gloating thread in a couple of years time when Eidos is shuttered and Squeenix is in receivership, that's what you get for ruining classic franchises :)
