Tallima: All of the bad reviews that I've seen are listing the things I like about the game as negative. And then they say they're negative because the first Thief didn't have it or it is implemented differently.
I guess. Whatever. As I said about Blacklist and Conviction -- everyone complaining seems to have not played the game. The game itself is different than its predecessors, but still very good.
I really dislike that type of thinking. "This is different from the old game, so I hate it even though I haven't played it." I guess. Whatever. As I said about Blacklist and Conviction -- everyone complaining seems to have not played the game. The game itself is different than its predecessors, but still very good.
I haven't played this Thief yet, so I won't say anything about it. But all the complaints remind me a lot of when Human Revolution came out.
People were saying the game was terrible because of the 3rd-person cover system, the takedowns, the color, and everything else that was different from the original Deus Ex. Most of these people complaining had not played the game. There was even a mod made for the original game that parodied all of the "bad stuff" from HR. This mod came out about a week after HR was released, which makes me doubt that the maker actually had the time to play the game, then create a pretty good mod for DX so quickly.
Even I was skeptical about the new changes, but after playing the game for a couple of hours, I found that I really liked the cover system and the takedowns. I thought they were implemented very well, and that those complainers who hadn't tried it yet were really missing out.
I'm going on too much about DX in a Thief topic...
My point is that it is good to be a bit more open-minded. You will often be happier that way.
