JudasIscariot: Personally speaking, I am glad that The Witcher is coming to consoles. Perhaps when the console players see the depth of the story as compared to other games they will begin to demand deeper games for their respective consoles. Then we can all enjoy something original on a console without it feeling like there is something lacking in the gameplay or in the game's design in general. I hope CD Projekt makes a ton of money in this because then (I hope) we will see deeper and more involving games on the consoles rather than the standard JRPG and FPS stuff we see nowadays.
I wouldn't really bet on that. Not to undersell CDP RED's skills or anything, but getting people to play something they're not used to is no small feat. Granted, the Witcher isn't
that "hardcore" an RPG, but it still might be hard to get into with its non-standard game world. I would say I'd have more faith in the Witcher taking off if it was the other way around, the gameplay being more "non-mainstream", and the presentation more appealing, as that has been shown to work before (see Advance Wars for turn-based strategy or Team Fortress 2 for team-based FPS). Still, I'd think it'll gain a relatively small but dedicated following, at least allowing for similar games to be made, even if not vastly expanding the possibilities.
TheCheese33: That's what the combat's like? Well, thanks for helping me decide not to purchase it!
I've only played of the game's demo, but didn't encounter bugs like that, so I don't suppose it's all that common.
