Fenixp: - Digital preorders make no sense wthatsoever and should be burned with fire

DaCostaBR: It's not the first time I've heard this and I disagree. There are some games that I intend to buy day one, like followups to previous games, be it a "sequel" like Dark Souls or an expansion like Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon; where the quality doesn't matter because, even though I have high hopes, I'll want to make the judgement on whether it's good or not for myself on that first day. So if I'm going to play it on day one regardless, doesn't it make more sense to preorder a week before and get the discount?
I disagree. Unless the discount is larger than 15% then no. If quality doesn't matter I can understand your reason but I still disagree with it. Also, just curious, what's with the have-to-play-on-day-one? Are you afraid you'll be spoiled because it's inevitable if you're on the internet? :P

I didn't start playing The Witcher 2 until a month after Enhanced Edition was released and I wasn't being spoiled at all then again my line of spoilers isn't that strict anymore but I still take care to avoid the stuff I don't want to know.

Fever_Discordia: Personally I'm more exited about Cyberpunk - Witcher 1 is in my backlog and I don't even own 2 yet...
You know, I kind of am too but that game seems so far ahead into the future somehow, I don't know.

DarrkPhoenix: I'm still a bit peeved at the extortion CDP pulled in Germany following the release of TW2, so I'll probably be holding off on TW3 until the price drops a bit (I'd already bought TW2 at full price when I learned of what they were doing, so this is their delayed punishment for that as far as I'm concerned).
Yeah, that was a d'ck move on their part. Then again the message that was sent with it kind of killed their whole DRM-free moment as I'm sure enough people will pirate their stuff just to spite them and even worse if it happens again so I think they learned their lesson.

Nowadays I value more my time than my money. So if I happen to have the free time to play it when it comes out then I won't tempt my fate by waiting any longer.

Spoilers are part of it too though. There are some games that look interesting to me and I decide I'm going to play them (like The Witcher 3), after that I don't look up any other trailers or information about it, what's the point in spoiling it for me if I'm going to play it anyway, right? And I say quality doesn't matter because if I'm interested in the game then if it's good I'll enjoy it even more with a fresh perspective, and if it isn't I'll derive my own fun picking it apart trying to understand what's wrong with it. So when I say spoilers I don't mean story, I mean getting to know the game in general, and that includes its flaws. Although I did try waiting with Bioshock Infinite just to have someone tell me the ending.

About the discount, I said I don't care about the money, and I don't, but I have asked myself in the past: "You're playing a game on the first day, you knew you would be, so why didn't you buy it last week and take the discount? It wasn't much but now you are paying more for it just because.

This I understand.

I'm curious, how did it occur?

Nirth: I'm curious, how did it occur?
Someone just wrote it on a comments section about the game. Even just skimming through it, it was impossible to miss.

Haha, ouch. At least now you can avoid such places. :P (something similar happaned to me a few years ago so if I care enough I don't read anything regarding a certain game and I avoid places that it can still happen).
Surprised that this game will come out on Xbox One. So much for CD Projekt RED's anti-DRM stance.

Fictionvision: I need to see what the minimum specs are before I pre-order. I appreciate CDPR, but $50-$60 for a game that will be a slide show for me isn't ideal when it could go towards an upgrade instead.
Yeah, I'm thinking about an upgrade around the release date. At the moment I might be better off using one of those digital photo frames as my monitor :D

I forgot about that. I wonder if they will make a deal with Microsoft to leave out somehow. Nevertheless, as long as they bring in money and make the PC version good it doesn't matter for me.
Will preorder collectors edition. The only series I do that for.

I'd bet CDP won't add DRM to the console version, skipping all that "up to the publishers" thing. However, it makes sense to release on all available platforms, even if one of them has DRM by default it's easy for them to dodge by saying they did not put it there.

The Witcher 2 was released on Steam as well. I'm not sure what the complaint is exactly. I think the important thing is they offer it here DRM free should the consumer choose it. It's about the freedom of choice. If someone wants to gimp themselves with the xbone version, that's fine, because nobody is forcing them down that path.

True and they even offerered the feature to redeem a GOG copy to everyone that bought them elsewhere be it other DDs or physical.
I liked both Witcher games but I cannot bring myself to buy 3. My hardware will certainly not be able to play it and I don't have the budget for a new PC.

Wow, I didn't know that! Alright, that's the final nail in the coffin. This complaint is officially redundant :D
Hm, can't wait for Cyberpunk...
