This is one of the few games I'm willing to pre-order based on previous game quality and the consumer-friendly behavior of CDProjekt. I'm on the website pre-order alert mailing list already, but I really want to contribute early. I'm not interested in the Xbox One version.
Damn. You had me there for a moment. Shame on you for teasing us so!

But yes, The Witcher 3 would be one of the very rare cases where I would be willing to pre-order too. Just to support CDProject.
Agreed. If us GOGlodytes who do care about this stuff don't support it, who will?
While Witcher 2 is my GOTY of whatever it was released in and I actually preordered it and got it for the full price, I'm not quite sure I'll do the same again as it breaks 2 things I try to abide by as much as possible:
- Digital preorders make no sense wthatsoever and should be burned with fire
- A videogame should not cost 60 euro

So... Yeah. I might just wait until it drops to a reasonable price, like 30 or so.

Not that I disagree with your bottom line, but the way I see it, I'm not just paying 60€ for a game, like I would in any other place. I'm paying for DRM-free, good PR, good business practices, future enhanced editions for free, and a bunch of goodies. As long as CDP keep themselves on the good side, and most other publishers annoy me with their exclusive clients and other shit, I'll buy their games even without a computer capable of running them. I'm that kind of idiot.
I agree with Fenixp in regards to digital preorders. They should be avoided

Edit: Spelling, cause I'm an idiot

Witcher is pretty much the only franchise for which I would preorder (well, and Dark souls 2 if it were on GOG).
So, while I'm not interested on registering on the pre-order alert mailing list, I'm ready for the announcement here.

Any time CDProjekt...

^This.
When almost all publishers treat me as a criminal who has to be under surveillance 24/7 just for playing their games, and one publisher sticks out on the good side, treating me fairly, fighting against DRM and delivering good support and additional content even long after the release - well, then that one publisher is worth supporting. Which also means I am willing to pay full price and not to wait until the price drops, as I do usually.

About pre-orders: Yes, for the customer digital pre-orders usually don't make sense. But as a form of support for a developer it does. Thus they get some money before the release which they can invest in the final QA phase, instead of having to rush the game because the money runs out.

Same here.

I'll do what I did with The Witcher 2: Wait for a good sale around the time the Enhanced Edition is released then wait until at least one patch is out after the EE to start play. One or two simple mods should have arrived by then to fix some minor gameplay issue too.
I'll pre-order on GOG a week before it comes out.
I need to see what the minimum specs are before I pre-order. I appreciate CDPR, but $50-$60 for a game that will be a slide show for me isn't ideal when it could go towards an upgrade instead.

It's not the first time I've heard this and I disagree. There are some games that I intend to buy day one, like followups to previous games, be it a "sequel" like Dark Souls or an expansion like Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon; where the quality doesn't matter because, even though I have high hopes, I'll want to make the judgement on whether it's good or not for myself on that first day. So if I'm going to play it on day one regardless, doesn't it make more sense to preorder a week before and get the discount?
Personally I'm more exited about Cyberpunk - Witcher 1 is in my backlog and I don't even own 2 yet...
Pre-ordering on GOG for the digital version. Also getting a boxed set, hope it comes to local shores.
I'm still a bit peeved at the extortion CDP pulled in Germany following the release of TW2, so I'll probably be holding off on TW3 until the price drops a bit (I'd already bought TW2 at full price when I learned of what they were doing, so this is their delayed punishment for that as far as I'm concerned).
