adamzs: Ah, thanks! I wasn't sure if it was possible just using the forum's attach feature as it seems a bit bugged.
The whole forum is a bit buggy. ;)
Very nice.

Speechless.
I'm a programer ...and a webdesigner... never hurts to help a starting dev out there
I finished it,pretty fun game.
Don't you use kickstarter?

Well, to be honest we've been thinking about it, but somehow I don't feel comfortable with the idea. It's hard to explain. Plus I don't think we've got enough to show for an effective campaign yet. It's not out of the question though, so maybe later we'll decide to give it a go.

Nice design.

You should put some kind of progress bar, or percentage for the loading screen.. I had to keep checking that it was doing something.

I'll post my quick thoughts on it later if I have time.

You need to be in the US to use Kickstarter. So don't get your hopes up. And again, great work!

That would be awesome, thanks. As for the preloader, it's supposed to show the loading progress through a slight colorization of the letters spelling "LOADING". I've gotta admit that's not very easy to spot though.

Ah, that settles that then. There are similar services elsewhere, though I believe those are smaller in scale and popularity.

It's not that hard to find someone to help you with that problem ;)

@adamzs
btw one idea... popularity is everything. send couple of mails to let's say: joystik.com , ign.com , gamasutra... trust me they will look at your game for sure ;)

Love it!
Finished it.... it's... lovely.

Cute design work and morish gameplay. I really did want to know what happened.

As I don't make games I wouldn't tell you how to (although that doesn't go for the big companies who expect £40 from me sight unseen).. saying that, my opinion on a couple of points is as follows.

It's very dark.. I realise that's part of the charm of the art.. and it works.. up to a point, but I had to turn my light out to play it, that may just be me however... Secondly, I realise it's still a WIP, but you should get some sound for it ASAP.. not necessarily a full score, but definately some light musical cues... and they have to be light, bearly suggestive of music. Finally, I'd put more interactive items in it.. not that they need to be a part of the puzzle, but just something that happens if you don't press the thing that progresses the 'story'

Apart for that.. very well done indeed. Round of Applause.

Edit.. If I haven't already made it clear.. Play it!!

I'd even pay for it if it was a lot longer.

Thanks for the feedback, Tormentfan. I too think the game's a bit too dark in some places, sometimes it's hard to see what's going on. We'll make sure to pay extra care to that in our upcoming game. Also, that game will be much less linear and will have more distractions, so expect some improvements in those areas as well. :)

As for the music, there is music playing during the game. There is a small button in the bottom right of the game screen that turns sound on and off. Perhaps you've pressed that by accident?

I'm glad you saw my opinion as constructive :)

Oh... :/ My browser must be playing up then, I'll have to play it again to listen, I pressed the mute on and off and got nothing... sorry about that.

But, yeah, apart from that it's really nice.. ;) Good job.

Thanks for the idea, I have now spent about 8 hours today posting the game to various forums and contacting the editors of a dozen or more web blogs and gaming news sites, and I think I'll start the day tomorrow by doing the same some more. I'm beginning to grasp that the key to good marketing for an indie dev is to take all their shame and humbleness and throw them out the window, and just write as many emails to as many people as possible. :)
I played it again with my browser working this time, I heard the music.

And I'm sorry to say that it completely changed my perception of the game, although the music isn't 'technically' bad, it's obviously been produced well enough, it lends a sinister overtone to the game and character that wasn't there sans music.

Before I heard it, I had considered a certain appealing innocent cuteness to the character exploring his environment, this allowed me to interpret the artwork in said way too. However with your consideration of the character now being forced upon me, so to speak in a musical cue that I hadn't even considered, I find myself slightly (pardon me :/) repulsed.

I hope that you can still consider my comments in a constructive manner and find this particular situation as interesting as I do... I certainly don't dislike the game just because of the music, but it has dramatically changed the way I view it.

The juxtaposition of trying to bring together both of the views I hold towards the game simultaniously in my mind, is quite jarring for me in this sense... literally it's night and day.

So I guess it all falls entirely down to how you want the game to be perceived by your audience.. if you are going for the arty, creepy, claustrophobic vibe then as it stands you've got what you want, it hits that particular nail square on the head.. but if you want a wider iconic sweeter appeal, which IMHO seems to suit it better, then the music would have to be 'tinkely" as if the music was expressing the wonder the creature is finding on it's exploration.

Whatever way you fall on this matter, I again hope I have been constuctive, and I thank YOU, for this very interesting experience.

EDIT.. I still recommend it... just to a different audience. :)
