spinefarm: So in total..most of the ppl complain about paying 1$ for 4 games... nice nice... Everybody is getting spoiled with all those sales...I guess :)
It's always the way. Budget goods attract the budget shopper and most budget shoppers fall into two categories:
1) those who seriously have very restricted budgets and need to make every single penny count

2) those who might be a little more well founded, but who are "cheapskates", hagglers etc.. .call them what you will, but the kind of person who always drives to get the cheapest of the cheap and then makes sure to get a discount!

You'll see it in any service or product market that its the most cut-throat at the bottom of the barrel and its no different in gaming. The only difference is that complaints randomly spaced around the net are highly unlikely to actually garner any further discount so its mostly just a waste of complaining for complaints sake alone (though some people do like to try the whole "If you don' do as I say I'll smear bad things about your company all over the net" tactic).

In the end I wouldn't worry overly much about it.

As for the bundle, eh not going for it myself. Only COGS semi-interests me from the games on offer and Avadon is just a touch too oldschool for me. That said Humble Bundles are not unknown to gain more extras, one or two good games being added might make me consider a purchase and Humble do tend to stick to generally worthwhile titles to consider.

I think noone here pay 1$ for those games.

At least I hope so. It's not that we all should make big donations, but it's a matter of self respect not to take such bundles "for free".

TheEnigmaticT: Well, Avadon is pretty buggy for me on my Transformer, but it's still pretty fun, too.
What problems do you have? I'm playing it on Transformer too (Android version 4.0.3 or whatever the newest one is), and the only "issue" I found was that text seemed smaller than I'd like, even if I set the text size to large in options.

Other problems? I'm not sure if it was a bug or my fat fingers, but I had some problems attacking one of the dogs, I seemed to be moving my soldier beside it quite a few times, not attack it. Damn touchscreen controls...

My point is that you can get 4 games for 1$ ...and everybody is whining about it... Same as people whining about pricing on GOG.
And no you are wrong it is a matter of money in your wallet :)

And to be honest all those bundles are not for profit... they re for advertising all this new developers out there.. Do you think anybody will actually buy Swords & Soldiers or that flash game for more than 2-3$? Everything is gaming buisness is about advertising and hype... If you make a good hype about ur game you will make great sales. The strangest part is that people do complain about the quality of indies and prices...and nobody is complining about games full of bugs like SR3/Skyrim..etc.

I paid $6.50 for this bundle, the average (for getting the Swords game as an extra) was around $5.85 at that point... I divided the money so that most went to developers, and rest (around $1.50) to HIB tip.

I didn't put anything to charity as I couldn't be arsed to check what exactly I'm supposed to support with it. I'm from a socialistic welfare country where the thinking goes that the state (ie. all of us, with our tax money) supports the needy, there are not that many charities that I feel obliged to participate in, on top of my tax money going to the needy already.

I don't know if I was being cheap with this bundle, maybe so, but then I wasn't familiar with the games so I didn't know what I was buying.

I hope no one here is whining?

Then again, I would say 3 games, the parkour game is a silly Flash game that is freely playable anyway.

Check the posts on the last page... people are complaining about the games in this bundle. I personally paid 2$ for it(being without a job cuts my expenses) and already own the Swords & Soldiers game from Christmas sale on Steam. And to be honest I would gladly pay more if I can...

I think it is different to complain about the quality of games, and how cheaply you can get them (if you pay the minimum). If someone feels the games are not interesting enough to actually play, the value of the bundle is about $0 for them.

I personally feel I got my money's worth though, I'm pretty sure I'll keep playing Avadon, Swords & Something, and Cogs every now and then. Maybe they are not interesting enough to play on PC, but pretty ok stuff for Android devices, considering the general lack of quality of games on that platform. I think many complainers are comparing to other PC games (where they don't shine I guess), while I am mostly comparing to other casual Android games.

Oh yeah, and it is indeed very nice that for the same money, you get the same games for several platforms (albeit I feel I won't probably play the PC versions, apart from maybe Avadon).

So you expect an AAA title for 1-5$? That's why it is Pay what you want ... Trust me I prefer spending 50 euro on games like this than 50 euro on MW3/BF3 etc...
The quality of the most of indies is not that bad... especially for the price tag.
And even if you pay over the average 6.25$ atm.. you get 5 games (4 if you don't like the flash game) for less than 2$ per game :)
If you check the steam prices: the 4 games redeamable on steam are valued 30.5 euro :)

And in your edit you mentioned the other plus for HIB's - Multi-platform games for 1 price.... that's enough for me :)

Frankly, if these were just PC games, apart from Avadon I probably wouldn't be interested, maybe even for free. I consider the 4 of 5 games of these casual games that I might play on a mobile device while taking a dump or waiting my plane to leave, not something I'd generally put my teeth to at home (albeit, I did that yesterday with S&S, but frankly I should have used that gaming time on Diablo 2 LoD instead :)).

But, I guess it is still good that there is an affordable gaming option like this on PC too. Even then, as PC games, I feel these games are mostly much inferior to what e.g. GOG is selling (older "AAA" titles for $6-10, less on promos), considering the amount of gameplay they are probably going to offer etc. Again, excluding maybe Avadon.

timppu: even though it has surprisingly good music for such a silly game. I mean, come on, this wouldn't have sold even as a Commodore 64 era game. Apparently this was some student project which just happened to receive some attention for some reason, god knows why. EDIT: Ah yes, apparently this is actually a free Flash game, figures...

I'll give it one plus though: it seems to support the ASUS Transformer keyboard, ie. you don't have to tap on the screen to jump, pressing a key (like the space bar) will do. I wish more Android games would, e.g. Minecraft Pocket Edition.
Yeah, I found the best way to play Carabalt was with the touchpad button, as it's a lot more precise than the touchscreen. Hardware keys FTW, eh?

The music is by Danny Baranowsky, who also did Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. The guy has become a legend in indie gaming for his work

It never hurts to have a casual game or two on your pc just for relaxation after 10-12 hrs of Diabloing :D

I just told my wife that now I'm a game collector :P
With 100-200 games on the backlog it would be kinda hard justifying buying other games just to gather digital dust. But as a collector... she thought my answer was funny so I get to purchase some more games as long as I don't over do it. Give it a shot :)
It's an interesting idea but I'd rather they stuck with PC bundles.... Android is messy and the phones have such a wide range of specs and more advanced games have a tendency to have a very limited set of phones they work properly on. Avadon is great and worth the $1 on it's own but it being tablet restricts it's market, though if you don't have the pc version it's still worth it.

Cogs I got in a previous deal and haven't played. Zen Bound I have on pc and it's alright but more a distraction. Swords & Soldiers is good but basic. It's good to see a few real games on Android though but I think I'll stick with dosbox'd mouse centric games & emulators.

Resume from sleep is rubbish and fails about 40% of the time to a perpetual hang (like more more 4 minute long hang; I had to kill the process). When it doesn't fail, it usually resumes from sleep somewhere not quite where it went to sleep. Also, it has flat out crashed twice on loading screens.

My wife seems to think that is pretty damn stupid, especially for digital distribution. Oh well, i'll show her!
