FearfulSymmetry: You said it. I used to laugh at my mother for playing Hidden Object Games, then I started playing some of them myself and found them really enjoyable. Similarly, I used to make fun of her for playing Hay Day, but now she's got me hooked on that as well. Lesson learned: never look down on anyone for their gaming (or reading, or viewing) tastes, as everything is valid!
Crewdroog: I will look down upon you! You are ruining the image of girl gamers! booo! ;) kidding :)
Pshh, hell I enjoy Mahjong. And I am sure there are guys who watched the video I posted and are now trying to get to prom hahaha.
I loved your video, it totally made me laugh! And thanks for reminding me to play King of Dragon Pass. I bought it a while back and played it for a little bit, but I haven't really sat down properly for it yet.
I also agree that there might be more girls around here if the response to female gamers in some situations was a bit different. I introduced many of my real-life female friends to games (RPGs, mostly), and they absolutely love them. Some have turned into real gamers by now. However, I also have this one male friend, with whom I get along just fine otherwise, but he has these really odd views about women and gaming. For instance, he thinks that women who game 'stop taking care of themselves' . Apparently, he believes that girl gamers hang around in pj's all day with unbrushed hair. Well, I can safely say that most female gamers I know are not at all like that, and even if they were, it still wouldn't have anything to do with gaming. I can't even begin to wrap my head around that stupid idea.
