Klumpen0815: Between some Q3Arena and UT2k4 sessions I like to play stuff like this (I actually finished this game, f*** yeah!).

Shattering role models is always fun.
That game would bore me after the first few levels. I don't know why, but those kind of games have never appealed to me. I do like how you mentioned some violent shooting games before you go on to mention Hobby Farm :-). There's no shame in liking those types of games.

You said it. I used to laugh at my mother for playing Hidden Object Games, then I started playing some of them myself and found them really enjoyable. Similarly, I used to make fun of her for playing Hay Day, but now she's got me hooked on that as well. Lesson learned: never look down on anyone for their gaming (or reading, or viewing) tastes, as everything is valid!

I completely agree, it would be a boring world if we all had the same tastes and the same opinions.

That's a good point. As I said on the first rule, I am just going on trust, hoping that people will be truthful and not lie about something just to win a game. I know, it's a bit silly to trust in strangers being honest, but I try to look at the good in people and the forum, not always at the bad.

I will look down upon you! You are ruining the image of girl gamers! booo! ;) kidding :)
Pshh, hell I enjoy Mahjong. And I am sure there are guys who watched the video I posted and are now trying to get to prom hahaha.

Point is, we all love tons of different genres. It may not account for a majority of the games we like, but most of us have one game in each genre that we do like. For instance, I hate strategy games. Ugh, so painful. But I do like King of Dragon's Pass. I am just tired of being lumped as a causal gamer cause I don't have balls or getting texted/told "oh my god you are a girl?" each time a guy finds out. I think if we weren't treated like this every time we came out as a girl, you'd find a lot more of us out there in the trenches.

I loved your video, it totally made me laugh! And thanks for reminding me to play King of Dragon Pass. I bought it a while back and played it for a little bit, but I haven't really sat down properly for it yet.

I also agree that there might be more girls around here if the response to female gamers in some situations was a bit different. I introduced many of my real-life female friends to games (RPGs, mostly), and they absolutely love them. Some have turned into real gamers by now. However, I also have this one male friend, with whom I get along just fine otherwise, but he has these really odd views about women and gaming. For instance, he thinks that women who game 'stop taking care of themselves' . Apparently, he believes that girl gamers hang around in pj's all day with unbrushed hair. Well, I can safely say that most female gamers I know are not at all like that, and even if they were, it still wouldn't have anything to do with gaming. I can't even begin to wrap my head around that stupid idea.

Actually, that'd be kinda hot.
I'm in for a $5.99 game and +1 for you.

And my favorites genres are:

RPGs - I guess is because of the nice stories and customizing your character. Is my favorite genre, even being the last one of them I started playing (I started with Diablo 1, but my first true RPG was Baldur's Gate)

Strategy - I prefer RTSs and some tycoon/god games (Zoo Tycoon, Dungeon Keeper...). My first attempt at the genre was a demo of Command & Conquer or Warcraft 2, don't remember right now.

FPS - I don't play MP, then I look for those with good SP campaigns. Was the first of these three genres I played, in the time of Wolfenstein 3D
