amok: Criticism - that's fine. "the future of modern "gaming"" - that is not criticism. That is blackwashing and hysteria.
Hey, you can have an opinion. I can not. I must go to another forum. Nice.
What danger? That some people may get some games they like, even though you do not like them? Is there a danger that not all games are made according to your tastes?
Do you think making $100 million dollar cinematic movie games is sustainable at the rate budgets are exploding? Do you think it has no distorting impact on the industry in regards to smaller studios and games?
Again, naive, idealistic. Any industry is a finite thing, you concentrate so many resources (people, money) into single megaproject games and studios, you will see less games full stop, not just less mid-budget games but less games in general, as budgets are concentrated.
Also, it's not about "what people like", if you throw enough marketing money at a game, it will sell even if it's a turd. Great deal of "gamers" don't make informed, educated or logical decisions on what they buy, they make decisions based on hype and marketing.
Stop talking as if people are infallible and their "opinions" are completely pure and equally important. Most people are pretty damn ignorant and stupid.
