Yeah it's funny because pirates made it DRM-free in a short time while backers have to wait for ... a date not yet announced. This is a bit frustrating when you backed the game with a huge amount of money several times the real price of the game. So this is some kind of gallows humor.

There is not only this example existing.

For Example: Maxis said that it is not possible to make an offline mode for Sim City. Some Modders made it in a few days. Then Maxis said that you could be banned when you use this mod because they see it as a crack not a mod. Now they made an offline mode themselves in a much longer time. LOL!

One of my continual frustrations with corporations these days - they'd rather keep trundling on with unworkable DRM than just get the product out the door. Same thing keeps me from buying ebooks from most vendors these days.

I don't pirate games, so I'm still waiting for my DRM-free version of this title here. Nice to know that, as an honest consumer, I come fucking last in their calculus.

It sure is if you can't tell the difference between a DRM-ed version with a crack on top of it and a DRM-free version.

These people are actually trying to program a proper DRM-free version and funnily enough all they seem to get from the drm-free crowd is hate. Apparently it's a horrid thing for a 3 man development team with 1 programmer to be late with a different version of the game when it comes to a DRM-free version.

I applaud the people who actually are saying they have the patience to simply wait for it rather than complain.

Who the hell is complaining? I'm not buying the game at full price nor torrenting the game. Yes, it would be nice if the game was available at the same time in diffrent stores but I'm not affected in any way.

I suspect I'm missing a "meme" here. Though I freely admit that my tastes are outre enough that they are typically last on most business's "meet needs" lists.

This particular case just galls me because I am a programmer, and there is something piscine-scented about a team of indie developers building their product around a DRM framework first, and then needing to surgically excise it for the "regular" version. That does not inspire confidence in either their competence or their product.

Anyone who isn't grateful for the chance to press lips upon the anus of Steam, perhaps. Since they got their game already, all is right with the world, and everyone else can just sit quiet in the corner like good muppets and wait their turn. Maybe.

.....at least the torrented version is not the DRM-free copy from GOG :)
