langurmonkey: Yes, it would of been possible.
no - the discovery is thanks to pigs livers. we have a lot to be grateful to animals for. Pigs, Cows, Mice, Rhesus Monkeys and Banana Flies especially, they have saved many human lives over the years.

You also need to learn medical history and just how medicine works. It is not possible to do so theoretically, a organic body is just to complex.

SimonG: Just this time, I completely agree with Starmaker.

Well, apart from that "Testing is awesome". I would rather say, "testing is necessary and should be done in the least harmful way".
avatar
Starmaker: I actually agree with you more often than you assume, it's just when I agree so completely there's nothing to add or correct, a post is a waste of space.

There's more to animal experimentation than testing substances; the [awesome] is pure research, specifically genetics and neuroscience. As for cosmetics (except hygiene products), I'm all for banning testing on animals; cosmetics are a feel-good issue and it's fair and well that they take a hit from another feel-good issue.
I wonder if in a past life, you were this guy.

Yeah, I don't miss GameRager anymore ...

No, for one important reason: Past lives are fictional.

I wonder if you are this guy. Like, right now.

amok: but how did it originally be discovered and manufactured? Would it be possible to make syntactical insulin today not doing the first steps those years ago?
The question was where you get your insulin today and the point is that these days you can grab insulin with a clear conscience even if you're totally against extracting substances from animals etc. :P And personally I don't have any ethical objections when it comes to using animals in experiments for medical research, although I do wish they were treated as wel as possible under these circumstances.

He should also learn about nutrition. :P

Why should we be grateful? It isn't like they volunteered.

So because I despise the torturing and killing of animals. Because I despise the monsters who do such things and support such things. I am the high-functioning autistic person who was heavily emotionally damaged, artistic inspiration lost with paranoia, deception, blackmail and plain hurtful words from those bottom-feeding Trolls. I am the hand-drawing original creator of Sonichu, Rosechu and the city of Cwcville, Virginia, USA? WOW, are you retarded?

That is because like most humans, you think you are superior to all those who are different and are okay with everything that benefits you, no matter the price.

SimonG: Yeah, I don't miss GameRager anymore ...
Yes, because everyone in GOG general discussion, who says things that you do not like is a troll who was once known as GameRager.

SimonG: I totally agree with this and add another copy of Wing Commander to this giveaway.

Edit:

I love bacon and I eat enough animals each year that I'm still hoping for some naked PETA chicks to protest in my room.

But that stupid, douchebag giveaway of Licurg is not only a new low point on this forum but something where I, an outspoken critic of forum moderation, would have hoped to be closed promptly.

People like Licurg make me miss GameRager ...

As I forgot to add a number behind Wing Commander, the winner may choose which (Also Privateer).
I commend you SimonG. I'm posting here alot less because of a dropping standard of posts. But it's nice to see users such as yourself recognising it.

If you think Licurg is a douchebag for having an imagination aka pretending to be a dark god or demon, then the forum would be a lot better off without you, honestly. And last time, I checked, douchebags don't give away free GOGs to strangers.

No, not "no matter the price". And unlike fanatical animal lovers I DO respect nature. I do think about how we got where we are, why we have species today which would be unable to survive on their own in the wilderness, I do know that animals suffered and went extinct before mankind even appeared. So what? Are you also holding such speeches in front of cats when they torture a mouse while they have a full bowl waiting for them at home?

I feel the same way about you but I'm not childish or insane enough to jump to the conclusion that you are an infamous troll.

I really do hope you are vegan...

Anyway, this is why I do not get involved with fanatics. Have a good life.

I would if I could but I don't speak their language.

1: It might have been better for Licurg to do a giveaway saying "i am a dark lord. You must post a pic of something of sacrifice in order to win sacrifice" rather than: Post dead animal pics.

2: The forum IS better off without me. I'm not well liked here, and i don't fit in with the social standards here. Nevertheless, as i'm a member of GOG, i have a right to post here.
Is it me or is this topic derailing a bit ;)
