Hello,
There are many games that were hits and remain masterpieces, but are either completely abandoned. The examples:
The Dark heart of Uukrul: Broderbund, that has released it, exists no more in its present form; my attempts to contact them and learn the fate of the game ended in smoke, the current owners of trademark can't even recall they have ever released such a game.
Solar Winds, 1 and 2: Epic Games does not offer those for sale any more.
Demon stalkers, EA doesn't sell that fantastic game, AFAIK.
Thexder and a lot of other action/arcade/puzzle games. In many cases the companies that have released them, exist no more.
Is it still possible to sell those games legally? They are all available on abandonware sites, but AFAIK downloading games from there isn't legal, even if there's no publisher any more, publisher doesn't want to sell them directly and/or game developers chose oblivion for some reason.
Thanks.
