Yeah, I kind of hope they come to this thread and talk to us (I linked them and invited them).
Aaron Conners talks about FMV at Adventure Treff

MoP: Uhhh, now in the FAQ:

Will I be able to play “Project Fedora” DRM – Free?
Yes. Once you purchase “Project Fedora” it is yours! You may download it to as many supported devices that you own (PC or Mac).

So have they changed their minds, or are they outright, pardon the word, lying (maybe that's too strong, how about "confused")?
Yeah I think they're just confused. I hope they read this thread.

I'm a huge fan of the games (the first person ones, at least), but if they insist on shoving this, I'll be glad to take that $115 back. Makes it easier on the wallet after Pinkerton Road goes through.

hucklebarry: This was the response I got:

""Project Fedora" will be DRM-free in that once you purchase it you will have the ability to download it onto any supported device (PC or Mac)."

I don't think they know what DRM means :/ (by this definition, EVERY game is DRM-free)

Based on the quote from SirPri above, I'll pass on backing unless they update their stance. Maybe it will come to GOG a year or two after release?
I got the same response too.

Empress.Salustra: On an awesome note I called Chase to get my credit limit raised and the nice guy on the phone was a fan of the game as well and was going to look at the kickstart!
Heh that is pretty awesome.

SirPrimalform: Yeah, they honestly don't seem to know what DRM is. They tell me it'll be DRM-free, I ask for clarification and they say it'll have online activation. Then they say in their FAQ that it'll be DRM-free! Crazy talk.
How does any game designer in this age honestly not know what DRM is? I mean, really, the guy talks about "protecting their software" in his response to you, so he certainly knows its purpose and by mentioning online activation he's obviously aware of one of the prevalent methods as well. Considering their "carefully crafted" email responses to you and spindown, and their disingenuous FAQ entry, I think they're just lying to boost donations. That's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with, and it makes me angry as hell.

You have a point. I'm starting to feel a bit pissed off.

You could look at it a different way now though. The FAQ answer doesn't mention online activation, it just says: DRM-free.
In other words they've publicly stated it'll be DRM-free. They've kind of put themselves in a position now where they can't put online activation or any other kind of DRM on it.

Then again, I remember Ubisoft calling some of their games DRM-free when they required online activation too.

How can that not be false advertising? o.0

Well hypothetically they can, and people won't even notice it until it's too late.

I believe it was when they decreased he level of DRM on some games from "lose connection for a second and we throw you out of your single-player game until you get online again and we can let you in where you dropped off" to "do a check each time you start the game". The less retarded latter was, of course, called "DRM-free".

Note that this is all according to what I've read, and I may remember slightly wrong.

Phaidox: "Once you purchase “Project Fedora” it is yours! You may download it to as many supported devices that you own (PC or Mac).""

Is it just me or does that line essentially mean "you'll get a Steam key"?
Given their association with Big Fish Games, I had assumed they were hoping they could get BFG as their distribution platform once again.
Ah well what can ya do about it :(

Me, I'll just hold out for the inevitable GOG release, and maybe pick up the boxed version from eBay separately in the near future.
