Sachys: Just been playing it -
the enviromnet design is great (I mean REALLY very nicely done).
the base gameplay feels similar to dead space in a way - though there are some differences of course
the voice acting isnt great - but if you can watch a lower grade scifi or horror film for the better elements it wont bother you.
there are some graphical glitches / flaws.
for me none of this has been game breaking.
so far for the $2.49 / £1.?? price tag its been worth it for me - had i paid more i might not feel the same way but its worth that price if you arent too low on funds
Austrobogulator: Thanks, I suppose I may as well just go ahead and get it. If it is essentially Dead Space but bad, then I can deal with that - after all, I did play Dead Space 3 :O
I played to, too. similar to Dead Space yes, but I would not say it's intrinsically bad. It's not quite as good as DS generally, yes. I mean DS was great. Afterfall ist just a bit slower since most of the time you are doing melee combat. Save your Ammo.
I like it a lot.
maycett: System shock 2 is 75% off ($2.50) for the next 8 hours. Will I like this game if I don't like horror or shooters in general?
Austrobogulator: Hard to say. It's more unsettling than outright scary. Also, it depends on why you dislike shooters; there's a lot of things in the game aside from shooting, it's certainly not a fast-paced twitch shooter. Basically, it's a game about atmosphere, story, exploration/discovery, and inventory management (and I do mean this in a positive way).
Edit: wait, SS2 has trading cards :o
I suggest getting a few tips on character building. With some combinations the game might become just unwinable for starters.
