dizcology: I am entirely new to Steam summer sale, and have a couple of questions:

Are the games listed in the link in this post all that will be discounted?

And if not, is there a chance rather new games/DLCs could be discounted later on, even if it is not on sale now? Specifically I am asking about 400 days (the walking dead DLC).
avatar
Pheace: That's very new, it's unlikely to go on sale unless Telltales feels like doing some kind of promo when Walking dead goes on sale (which it will).

Do keep in mind that games on that list may still get higher discounts if they get a daily/flash/community sale.
Thanks! Because of the flash sales perhaps I should try and hold off my purchases until later.

Quoted for being the credited opinion.

Personally, I give a bit of leeway to low-risk purchases of $2-$3 *shrug*
I'd really love to get excited about this, but virtually nothing on my over 200 items wishlist is over 50% off right now. GOG won this year for me AGAIN.

Mivas: Frankly, I don't care. We don't use euros here, Steam charge me in euros and they can compete with local prices when they do at least 50%. I say local stores because a lot of titles are Steam-exclusives regarding digitally sold products, so I don't even consider website like GG to be a Steam competitor.

You can normally get Bishock Infinite for $40 here. Steam "deep 50% sale" is $33. I call it hardly alluring price policy.
I .. didn't say you should care. But you're the one who compared the store price to your $13 bought by at a polish store by a friend. Just saying there's plenty of ways to get stuff cheaper if you're going that route, so yeah in that sense it's not an al luring price, although some of the cheapest prices then still come from Steam probably with the RU/UKR prices. I usually trade for those with the Steam trading system.

Most Summer sales have been lukewarm this year and I'm sure this'll hold true for many after the Steam Summer sale has ended.... but you do realize there's still over 90% of the sale to go at this point right?

So... he says his game bought in Polish store by his friend was cheaper and you say you can't compare that, and then you say steam games bought from RUS region and traded by your friend are cheaper is a valid comparison?

I know most of my wishlist will not go on daily deals.

Most disappointing sale ever.
I usually enjoy those Steam sales only for the "event", but this cards one is really ugly.
Basically all you gain is...a badge. And to gain it you must spend money or vote games. Well, good for me I can sell those cards, but I miss the old, good, treasure hunt an coil events.

And, by the way, the discount are HORRIBLE.
Dishonored was sold in bundle with another game for 15€, and Steam make a 66% discount (not voted) for 11€?
Borderland 2 too, it was sold on GMG cheaper then this, and the same is for many other games.

I'm not interested for those titles, I only want old Duke Nukem titles 75% off, but come on...

Pheace: I ..
No, I said that Steam's discount made the game cost same as local regular price and that I'm hardly impressed, as usual. Note about Bioshock Infinite was meant to say that there have already been better deals available.
I get that Steam offers probably awesome prices for a Netherlander but Czech Republic isn't Netherlands. We have different economy, we use different currency and are still being treated as Netherlands by Steam when it comes to prices. Thus the imbalance.

Most steam games are chaper outside steam. It sounds riddiculous but it's true. I think I only bought a steam game on steam lately, because it wasn't sold anywhere else as a steam key.

That's not what I was saying at all

This'll be true for most Steamworks games at least, since price is one of the few reasons people w ould have to buy a Steamworks game anywhere but on Steam.

New Flash Sales:

Civ series -75%
Little Inferno -75%
Football Manager 2013 -75%
Duke Nukem 3D -66%
Wow, I told you it was gonna be mediocre, and I was right yet again. GOG's sale was way better.
I want Duke 3D only for expansions, but not at 66% off.
It can goes to 75%?
If not, I will wait for X-Mas sale.

People are eating up Civ V Gold and the Gold upgrade like candy though it seems, same with the -33% Brave New World which just came out (for us in the EU at least)

*Usually* flash/community/dailies are the max percentage it'll be so best to wait for X-mas or another retailer perhaps (GMG)

I thought gog's sale was pretty mediocre... it did not wow me at all.

And all sales was just repeats from the mid-summer day sale, after that day you have seen all that they have to offer, made it a little bit pointless.
