Only 5 games on my Steam wishlist and I doubt that any of those will go as low as 75% off. I don't think I'll be buying anything, unless I see some non-wishlisted games that I'm somewhat interested in get highly discounted.

AdamR: Whatever I can get for 44 cents. Looks like that is all I'll have to work with this time.
Velvet Assassin or Cthulhu Saves the World.

Quasebarth: Dragon Age: Origins is currently on sale for 70% off (with a lot of other titles) on EA Origin. For 2,99€ basic edition, 7,99€ for the deluxe edition or 9,99€ for the ultimate edition. How much lower do you expect it to be on summer sale on Steam?

The only thing I would consider buying during the Steam summer sale would be the XCOM: Enemy Within expansion for around 5€. On my wish-list, as a reminder, are still Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West. Both for around 5€ might do the deal as well.

Sachys: 1: at least 75% for the ultimate edition as thats a regular discount for it there - twice since it was on at that price over christmas season i believe - where I piecked up dark souls instead (without regret I add!).
2: whilst i do have some games on origin, it will be a steam purchase due to "wallet funds" on there
I got Origins complete with all DLC, even the crappy ones, for $5, and this was more than a year ago, on Amazon. Totally worth it. Grab it when it hits that price, though, I suggest, for I haven't ever seen it lower.

I'm still waiting for a good deal on The Stanley Parable. I liked the free version, but I'm afraid of wasting money on a remake that might be just as short and now less interesting, depending on how much of it has remained the same ...

I also hope for a nice discount on Burial at Sea Episode 2.

Then there's The Wolf Among Us, Battleblock Theater, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Enslaved: Journey to the West. Maybe Fallout 3, depending on whether it still has any third-party DRM like GFWL and whether it's possible to get it running on Win 8 (it sounds like it's rather incompatible to 7 and 8).

misteryo:
refuse to use amazon - i paid more UK tax last month than they have in about ten years.

dont have any GFWL on mine and runs fine on win7 - though i had to lower the resolution one notch on my laptop to avoid a weird lagginess. played it to the end without other issues though.

That gets my hopes up a little. Might pick it up and try it for myself then if the price is low enough. Thanks!

I'm talking about the price, you ninny. Grab it at that price, but from Steam, since that's where you've put your wallet bits.

no worries. think i also had to add it to the DEP exception list. but nothing too fiddly for a 75% off deal - and the 60+ hours i got out of it. did prefer new vegas by a long way... but F3 had some great moments and was good value at that price - really enjoyed it!

Yeah, F3 is the only one of the series I'm still missing, but I haven't played a single one of them yet, heh. I really should stop buying and start playing the Fallout games. ;)

Am I right in assuming FNV is partly turn-based or at least using a pause key and a tactical menu, while F3's combat is fast-paced real-time action like a FPS?

they both have a version of the turn based VATS system - but being an FPS it has been integrated in such a way that its not 100% turn based combat (it sometimes pays off to take a pot shot to instigate combat - then use VATS).

EDIT: but you'll still have to work in realtime too

difficult to describe beyond that, but (presuming you're familir with morrowind / oblivion / skyrim at all... mix that with an amount of pausable targeting / combat abilities. can be quite strategic, but remeins fresh as the same approach wont work everytime if you die.

Okay, thanks. I saw you can pause combat in FNV and target specific body parts etc,, but I assumed F3 played differently, since I watched some real-time combat. I guess it just depends on the player and the situations then, whether the combat is fast-paced or tactical, if, like you say, they both use the same system. So the difference between them are mostly in the world and quest designs, dialogues and story?

I have downloaded and started F3 twice on PC and had the xbox 360 game for a bit. Each time I start it can only get to about an hour or 2 into it and then I'm done. Seems to totally lose me. Everyone raves about it, and I love these types of games, but I just can't seem to get past the 2 hour mark. I think it has to do with how bleak it looks, kinda depressing to the sub conscious or something.

i think the main differences are the world, the npcs, backstory and atmosphere - FNV is defintley more of a traditional fallout in those terms, fallout 3 is a bit of a tangent, but works the same way as F:NV (think the differences between oblivion and morrowind / skyrim - very much that way. in fact, skyrim seemed to borrow a lot from F:NV in some mechanics

Sachys: *snip*
other than that, i think for me it will be the weirder, cheaper stuff that may or may not be good, but never ends up in bundles
I love quirky games so i will buy a bunch of those too! :D
Dishonored GOTY and probably nothing else, except if some irresistible deal comes up.
