iippo: I havent had issues with Steam offline mode, but perhaps OP has?
Anyways, I think GoG and Steam compliment each other very well - but thats where I draw the line, no Origin etc no söör :)
About binding games to one account only - well, with the games costing as little as they do and all the humble bundles and such, I really dont see problem. Well, the there is the "Bad Rats" -dilemma Total Biscuit mention ofcourse and I agree - but even that is easy to solve by making one folder for the stuff you dont want to see..
...And ofcourse, its pretty likely they may add game selling/exchanging or whatever ability in the future. Who knows - all I know my gaming hobby is waaaay easier these days compared to time I moved from Amiga to PC -world....

oh god..not enough xms memory...i remember i had to REMOVE a pc card from one of my computer to get just enough memory to play a game back in the day...crazy.
