What an asshole, she should have sued for more. I always knew this guy was an ass, but this drives the point home. Oh, Orcishgamer, you are not in the minority. After reading this i hope he gets whats coming to him and his crappy studio.

Red_Avatar: Erm holding someone by the waist is not groping.

From what was filed to court, I do think she took things out of proportions regardless of whether he's an asshole or not - that does not make him guilty of sexual harassment. The fact that the most she could mention, was him touching her hair (big deal) and her receiving Youtube vids, I don't think it was all that bad.
Did you read the actual filings and list of complaints? I am guessing not, because the complaints filed against him go far beyond a simple touch of her hair and a YouTube email.

He also has not really denied the fact he did many of these things, but is instead trying to justify it by taking her email out of context and portraying her as a party girl, implying she was asking for it to start with.

Glad if that's so. And man, I must have been really pissed, because between the anger and the alcohol apparently my grammar was atrocious in that rant. Still, glad I communicated the sentiment.

And what's more, even if she is a party girl to the point of having 3-somes every weekend, she still gets to say, "Dude, that's too far!"

I'm a pervert, personally, but I still think I get the right to tell the gay dude grabbing my ass that I'd rather he didn't (not trying to pick on anyone here, just a personal experience).

Couldn't have said it better. Including the "pervert" bit. Me I mean. Not you :)

And yep, it's just the same as guys who say a woman was "asking to be raped" because of what she wore or said. This dickwad is using the same argument.

And don't get me wrong, I've worked in an environment where dirty jokes etc. were the norm. Never bothered me at all. In fact, the ridiculous PCness of much of the western world now bothers me more. But..... when it comes to inappropriate touching or doing things that are obviously making someone uncomfortable, that's when you stop. If you don't, it's harassment.

I think he'll find, in court, whether it's "his company" or not, the same labor laws apply and he will get reamed financially, along with probably even more money for his retaliation suit.

Sad for his other employees, but this dickwad deserves to have his company shut down if that's how he treats his employees.

EDIT: And as far as the gay guy grabbing your ass, I've been propositioned a fair number of times by lesbians as, because I was on the board of directors of a gay organization they presumed I was gay. It didn't bother me at all. It would, however, have bothered me if I'd made it clear I was straight, was flattered but wasn't interested, and they kept on pushing it. Then I'd be pissed.

Well that's pretty much the sane place to draw the line, I'm not going to get offended that someone I'm not at all interested in is interested in me, that's insane (and a double standard, almost no one wants the same rule applied to them). But everyone should have the right to say, "Okay, enough" and have it generally respected. I've only had one person push it and he was rip-roaring drunk (sadly for me the dudes are always more aggressive, I've met few women who push it that much) so I sort of give him some leeway, but he still should have known better.
I don't know how this will end up in the courts. But I DO know that him discussing this case in discussion threads on the Quarter to Three forums while the case is still pending makes him a gigantic fucking idiot.

It might be worth noting that a lot of those complaints about specific intercourse related questions appear to come from the online questionnaire he allegedly asked her to answer and then inform him of the results. What's interesting, is how the lawyers are picking out specific questions and listing each one individually, for a greater impact, as opposed to simply referencing the entire questionnaire as one item.
The purity test includes questions like, “Have you engaged in group sex?”, “Have you engaged in intercourse with an unconscious person, while conscious?” and “Have you had anal intercourse?”

Sounds like pretty normal stuff to me.

Not for your boss to demand the answers to, your SO, sure, but not your boss.

Exactly.

My sweetest was with a lesbian who was an ex US army Sergeant Major. She politely asked me out. I told her I wasn't actually gay, but thanks for asking ;) She very nicely handed me her business card and said, "You're beautiful. If you ever change your mind, call me". And that was that.

A very nice way to be asked out, and I was quite flattered. Especially as people told me afterwards she was extremely picky :)

Ah... How fitting. The insufferable prick gets sued for sexual harassment. Is it too late to add selling his loyal user base and wiping his ass with the so-called Gamers Bill of Rights to the list of offenses?

I guess that goes for all of us. Innocent until proven guilty.

Never heard of that guy anyway.
I guess he was just acting on an....
*dons sunglasses*
Impulse.

Sorry, had to be said.

I don't know how it is in the States but in Denmark the law mandates that an employer cannot ask such questions if they aren't relevant for the job. So unless she was applying for the job of porn star, then she could simply say no to such a questionnaire - but from the sound of it then this retard wouldn't take no for an answer anyway.

Yeah, as much as I have bowed to the impulse of personal sharing on the internet on rare occasions I still think he's being completely insane making any comment at all. The general view of him in the industry seems to be egomaniac, and that fits... he thinks he can explain why he is so right.
