Awesome trailer. :)

No, it is just about capturing the essence of the plot.
Dawn of War's trailers are all INSANELY awesome, but they tend not to show the clicking and the like.
Most FPSs only show the cutscenes (sometimes pre-rendered) and set pieces.
Gasp, shock, and amazement. Advertising isn't 100% truthful. Next thing, you guys are going to start complaining that women don't actually rape you in the street if you use Axe Deoderant.
It looks really nice.

I like the smell of Axe, but I never tell people I use it, because it would make me look like a douche.

More of an Old Spice guy myself. Fragrant, but not overpowering (the Irish Spring soap I use tends to do the overpowering. What? I like green stuff :p)
Also, for the record: I also REALLY want Ghost (still) :p

I'm not interested in playing the game, but after watching the trailers, I'd go to watch the movie.
I doubt your precious games have a better trailer than this one.
People just like to fucking bash for no reason.
awesome freaking ad. Too bad I get bored of RTS' really quickly, I always find the control schemes too cumbersome and I lose interest, otherwise I'd pick this up. The ad is almost making me buy it, but I know I'd regret it

StingingVelvet: And that's deceptive, which I don't like.

You're right, but that happens in a lot of game's trailers nowadays.

It's possible that we'll see a Ghost mod just months after release...
just use a third-person camera and that's it; of course it won't like good as Crysis, but better than nothing.

I'd totally go for a StarCraft movie... instead of that crap WoW movie.
I guess Blizzard is giving it time, they'll see how the reception is for the WoW movie and if it's good/after the two expansions for SC2 then they may make a movie about StarCraft.
I'm beginning to think that theres nothing original at all about SC2. The gameplay is virtually the same as the first, the story looks incredibly cliched, and the cinematics (best part about blizzard games) actually look worse than their previous games. I don't understand how so many gamers can rip on Halo and Gears of War, and at the same time drool over SC2. Its so disappointing, especially after how good and original WC3 was.
Oh, so you bash the gameplay and story while not knowing jack shit about either.
Good going.

Gameplay the same as the first game, world-renown for it's excellent gameplay, with some updates made to make it more up to date? That's good news.
Story looks incredibly cliched? Since SC1's Starcraft was quite engaging, I have no reason to expect they'll do worse in this one.
Cinematics looking worse? They look pretty nice to me.
Plus, Starcraft 1 > Warcraft 3, so since SC1 is "the same" as SC2, I think it's a safe bet Starcraft 2 will be better.
Also, the map editor.

Good going.

First of all, the game has been in beta for a while. I've sat and watched my brother play several matches in it. I have also read a lot of articles that the press has written. Honestly, everyone already knows pretty much everything about the gameplay. This isn't Spore where no one knew about the gameplay until the week before it was released.
In regards to the story, I'm talking about the trailers that have been released to promote it. All the videos are so cheesy and cliched. Same old space opera stuff.
And WC3 is a much better game than SC. Most of SC's appeal lies in its nostalgic value. The RTS medium has made so many positive advances since then (like WC3), but SC2 ignores most of them. A lot has happened in 12 years. ..

Ugh. The hero system in WC3 was shit. It worked fine in single player, but it made the game horrible in multiplayer.
There's a reason there are more people playing Starcraft 1 than Warcraft 3.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: ...

No. It's good gameplay for multiplayer since it balances easily and leaves just a little to luck, however as for a single-player experience it's heavily out-dated. I have played Starcraft recently and 'the little guys down there' weren't fighting. They were standing in lines until one of them fell over. It might have felt realistic and stuff back when SC was released, however I have no reason to NOT condemn it today, when Relic shows how to make atmospheric RTSes.
That doesn't really mean I do not understand the decision. It's better balanced that way, important stuff for atmosphere like sync-kills take control of units from you for a while... But, from replays I've been watching, I've noticed they haven't even bothered adding things like units taunting each other, or just them screaming in battle. Or at least changing what they say according to their health. Little things? Yeah. But important for me. There's no cover system, no at least semi-tactic movement of AI-units... Nothing.
As I said, I understand the decision of making the game 'hardcore' with as little shinies distracting from clickfest as possible. But I just don't give a rat's ass about multiplayer and I am sure SP experience would be so much better if Relic did the gameplay. Because I've played SC1 for story. I've basically suffered trough the most missions.
