Hoi all,
a question for those in the know.. Are any of the staff who handle the support@gog.com email non-native English speakers? I ask because a couple of replies to a suggestion of mine were, to be blunt, rather rude. This came as quite a shock and seems to be in total contrast to the rest of the site.
However something in the way the replies were phrased leads me to believe that maybe the person replying wasn't a native English speaker and something got lost in translation which would be a bit better.
Cheers
RJ

For some of us English isn't a mother tongue. Though we try our best.
I'm sorry if any of my messages were inappropriate. It is true that I'm from Poland. It's also true that we all have better and worse days as well as getting tired. I hope you will accept my apologies and that this unfortunate situation wont have any effect on you future experiences with our company.
That has to be the best apology I've ever seen from a company, EVER. Is there anything you guys AREN'T awesome at?
It's true there is mistakes in english syntax, spelling and grammar here and there around the website. It's nothing serious, pretty usual "eastern european" errors - the language barrier is a bit steeper for most of these countries because their first language is not derived from the germanic language tree. So there. ;)

I'm impressed with companies whose staff will step forward and admit mistakes. I almost wrote, "I'm always impressed with ...", but not that many would do so.
Edit: Spelling

It just shows once again how connected the staff are with their customers. I've not seen such interaction in all my years on the internet.

Yes, communicating with customers doesn't seem to be a major focus for most companies these days does it.
The funny thing is I don't normally bother with forums and such like, i'm quite the introvert, but everybody here is so friendly that i've slowly found myself getting more and more involved. I think part of that sense of community is the due to the way we are all treated as individual valued customers. I feel a part of something I want to see succeed, that feeling may be why we all seem to get along a lot better than most other forum communities I've ever come across.

Adam and I are, I believe, the only native English speakers here... and I'm not even sure about Adam! :) Though I'm actually German... so... uhhh.

Same here! This is the only forum I frequent, honestly. We rock. :)

High-Five and much "heart" to gog
High five, fuck yeah.
High Five here.
GoG has got to be one of the finest companies i have seen. One that cares for their customers instead of thinking only about £,$ whatever.
